It’s simply mind-boggling– the generation with insurmountable venues for
entertainment is the generation that’s always complaining about being bored.
Who’s responsible?

Pooped,
But not bored (zzzZ)
Fall asleep
Fully dressed
Phone in hand

Hello, Friends. A question: Can you recall the last time you were bored?
Be honest now– I cannot.
I *read and go crossed-eyed in amazement: so much to read, so little time,
so much living, no time to be bored.
(but watch me go to Twitter and declare IANB — I’ll be the oddball. Because on
TheTwitter you’re supposed to talk about the negatives. Going there and declaring
I am not bored would only get me crickets!
And say, if I were to get a whiff that something was not stimulating
(because sometimes *reads are not entertaining to my mind at the moment).
Like the poem today, intentionally BORING!
But does that temporary incident have the power to mark the end of my quest
to find a better poem or article to read?
Who’s deceiving who?
Who’s boring? Whose mindset sucks?
Might those poor souls, pictured above, who are always bored be using
the word boring interchangeably?
If so, why?
To mean what?
Or using the term to conceal something bigger?
Like a failure or a lack?
Wisdom comes in what you choose to do from here on — do you decide that the
deficiency is someone else’s fault/responsibility for making you bored?
Where is your responsibility in this?
And your purpose — where is it?
SMH!
Because really, boring in this time of abundance
and insurmountable choices —
POOP! I just don’t get it.
Are you bored? So, what are you going to do about that?
*read: replace reading for your interests

I don’t think I’ve ever been bored. Even as a child, I found ways to entertain myself without any electronic devices, which consisted mainly of one black and white tv. And social media…I use it as a playground and nothing more. I share my thoughts and creations expecting nothing in return. But, I do smile when my friends leave a heart or message. That always makes me 😊.
We found ways. We learned. We find ways now. Yes when we value human connections we can “afford” to smile and cherish the perks. I am missing you.

Oh, dear Selma…like yoi i could not remember the last time i was bored. It’s not even in my vocabulary..there is just so much and so many about life around to engage and indulge…with all due respect to our young people, i don’t understand why they seem to get bored a lot all the time..

I’m never bored, Selma, the world is full of wonders…I am trying to teach my children. I think it starts with YouTube and video games!

I’m somewhere in between generations now, but I agree that with everything, people should not be getting bored. I also love the poem.
I should mention though that young people are just experiencing a world with so much and haven’t identified what works for them so nothing is working for them just yet. Self discovery can happen when we are teenagers, or when we are 70yrs old.(just pondering)

Those who are bored need to develop some inner resources! And a mission in life! They need to open their eyes to society’s problems and the needs of others and start doing something to improve life on earth. I find the stories of the many young people who do just that to be very inspiring!

I am resisting Instagram and Twitter (why waste my precious time? I already do that on Facebook) But seriously, when my children said they were bored I’d usually find a task for them to do!

I’m like you, Selma, I have so much to do with so little time that there is simply no time to be bored. The younger generation is growing up with screens and instant gratification, so I imagine their patience runs very thin. My time is spent more in the land of blogging than on FB and Instagram, and I’m not on Twitter. ❤️

Love your poem. It is a very accurate description of our youth who love flashy things lol. To them I would say, it is a wonderful thing to be “bored” or “boring”, to slow down, to be still, to do absolutely nothing. From there your own sense of self and creativity can be found. It’s hard though because we all are always distracted by flashy things lol. The last time I was bored I was watching paint dry, literally, lol. But it taught me to be patient and find the beauty in waiting. 😊
