Mayday! May Day!

Heed—Mayday! Mayday! Mayday!
Poets deserve a play day
If they're here to make headway
Grant them now a holiday.

So what's the word of the day?
The "optional" prompt or sway
Bon, de quoi veux-tu parler?
Best of all, Tuesday, yay-day!

Who am I to disobey
No sir, that's not me today
I will dance to some reggae
Grab a timely matinee.

The seams 'been tearing away
I need strong vitamin K
From workspace staying away
Uncork a good Cabernet.

Or perhaps a Beaujolais?
Today you may overstay
Together we'll come away
And paint town red for a day.

Before we each hit the hay
Let us explore while we may
Seize the day without delay
Tomorrow we'll rhyme away.

This Philippines Tanaga poetry form could become addictive. But seeing as I’ve been
at this all month, here’s where I’ll take a bow and rest my bones for a few days.

Valerie, you’re the bestest! Thank you for putting these lovely prompts together.
Having a list up front has helped ignite sparks. Like I said before, I’ll tackle others
as the year progresses.

Bless you all for reading.
I wish you miracles.

My achievement:
A new NaPoWriMo website badge.
(I’ll be adding it as soon as I remember how…)

Mayday! May Day!!
