A poetry book of 178 pages that will make you feel human
Songs of Revolution: Poems Against Oppression by Sunday Mornings at the River
is an explicit anthology, as heartbreaking as it is beautiful. It’s a moving collection of
poems that will touch the core of your being and probably even make you believe in
the power of words and the goodness of people again.
The poems are sensitive and insightful and if the voices of these poets don’t put the
reader in a place of empathy and compassion for what has been happening in the
world, namely in Palestine, I’d say we are in big trouble.
This book, voiced by poets worldwide, invites humanity not to be complacent with
what is happening to real people. It’s an audacious testimony that we, the people,
are not okay with what’s taking place in Palestine with our brothers and sisters
there. It’s a poignant testimony of the spirit of humanity coming together in a
single-minded struggle for survival.
Each poem is a peace flag advocating for a world where everyone is treated fairly.
Each poem is a beacon of hope that points to a future where harmony is everyone’s
business. It’s a book that touches on the sentiments we all harbor inside for our
children and all children of the world. It’s a book that champions solidarity.

I wish to join my voice with these poets, I want to recommend this tremendously
gorgeous book of poetry to anyone who believes in the transformative power of
poetry to inspire change and foster a deep connection with humans who have
every right to decency, peace, and respect in our shared humanity. I have
confidence that if we pull our emotional resources for such a critical moment
in our history, together we can tackle the difficult issues still hoovering and
bogging us down. I hope you decide to raise the voices of these poets, if not
through a purchase then by spreading the word on the existence of this great

It’s distressing. People with hearts can see. Lots of history in that holy place. I want all wars to stop forever.
