Life is A Daily Expedition, You Decide Cadence #TankaTuesday

I Monitor My Path

It's
I who
attracts them
day after day
invite them, come in
bring calm or commotion
situations and people
on expeditions, we set off
with velocity execute them
then turnaround, searching for something new
this life is a constant expedition
where who stands at the helm is Me and
I get to decide the cadence
match the frequency I want
from choices around me
just grist for the mill
- EXPEDITION -
to embrace
slowed down
soon
Then
life will
reward me
with abundance
profound wisdom too
to discern miracles
when I monitor my path
which I have control, exclusive
as your path's unparalleled to you
so let's all set out on expeditions
where our paths are destined to sublimate
each our own but augmented, rounded
null of judging and controlling;
free from guilt, temptation-free
ready to receive the
gifts we choose to give
a bridge of love
healthy mind
steadfast
true

The days sure have become hot, humid, and long. A lot more daylight
than I like to consume. Um, I think that’s just the problem. The
amount of light we get here in Japan makes one lethargic. It does feel
to me as if the somnolence of 2 p.m is on all day.

So, let’s blame it on that. For this theme prompt for Colleen’s Word Craft: Prose
and Poetry, Tanka Tuesday, I delved deep. The word is EXPEDITION, selected by
Donna Matthews, who I want to introduce to you all.

I chose the Etheree format once again– alternating with reversed verses that look
lovely on the page.

An Etheree focuses on one idea or subject with a memorable message within the
count of 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-+ syllables. The poem is unrhymed but should
contain rhythm and flow; it should have a title and include a sense of
meaning, emphasizing imagery.
