#Squadteam #Friendshipflags– The Life Of The Party #dVerse

glittery balloons

celebration lacks

Tess and Zoë
call my name
I hear their clogs
in one hand
they hold confetti
on their faces

On Monday, July 11th, in celebration of dVerse’s 11th-year anniversary, and the
reopening of the Poetry Pub after the break, Merril welcomed poets back
with a celebratory Q. to which we are prompted to include the word ‘celebrate!’

“I know there are horrible, awful, tragic things going on in the world.
You may not feel like celebrating. That’s fine. Or perhaps this poem
by Lucille Clifton will inspire you to think about the word in a different way.”
~ Merril.

” “won’t you celebrate with me
what i have shaped into
a kind of life?”
Lucille Clifton, “won’t you celebrate with me” “

Good idea. I celebrate you, dVerse– a welcoming community I predict will be
around a long time. Please. Thanks.
And yes, the world is in dire need of some honest-to-goodness celebration begging
us for the shift. So thanks.

I appreciate you reading and commenting, and I wish you miracles.

It’s great when old friends show up to help you celebrate! Here’s to not being overwhelmed by fear! ❤️

I love the transition from funeral to friends, friends save the day(s), a sense that when all is lost it really isn’t when you have true friends who show up.

What a wonderful poem of celebration Selma and these days it’s nice people are being able to get together in funerals as well to come together, sad as that might be. We have to take each moment as it comes and make the most of it. Congrats on your participation in Diverse Selma! 💖💖 Such a wonderful group!

Thanks for stopping. Comments mean the world to me. Won't you please leave one?
