A Touch of Gonzo or A Touch of Genius

Written for Whimsygizmo: Quadrille #195 – Don’t Touch that Dial! (Stay and
Write a Poem)

You say that under the noon heat
asphalt softens and floods

and that under a moon-blanched night
asphalt hardens and dwells:

You could be wrong you know,
or, you just might have a touch of genius

...rightly, some things
need darkness for purchase

Whimsygizmo:

New to the Q? Here’s what to do:
Touch
those keys and pen us a poem of precisely 44 words, not counting the title,
and using some form of the word touch. When you’ve put the finishing touches on
your piece, post it to your own blog and link up using the Mr. Linky below. Then keep
in touch with your fellow wordsmiths by making your way around the blogosphere
to read and comment. The Quadrille is open all week, so be sure to touch base with
us later in the week to read and write some more!

Still stuck? Reach down and try to touch your toes and give your endorphins a good
spike (and if you’re anything like me – your brain a good spin).

This is how the prompt touched me.
Thanks for reading, dear ones.

I love the juxtaposition here between the hard reality of asphalt and the soft vastness of sky. So well done.

Yes indeed Selma, some things (Many things?) need darkness, I wonder as the mystics understood, that there is a beauty and refining nature of darkness.

Thanks for stopping. Comments mean the world to me. Won't you please leave one?
