#30DaysWild
The wonderful things they do at The Skeptic’s Kaddish where this week the PoW
is the hugely talented Lesley Scoble whose Italian Sonnet resides here:
Lesley’s prompt guidelines this week
- Write about the first wild creature that you see which inspires you on the day you write your poem (by wild creature I do not mean your spouse, etc.). *If you cannot get outside—write about the nature /wildlife within your home or visible from a window (even the window of your mind).
- Potential themes:
- The important symbiosis of wildlife, nature and us;
- Our emotional connection to the smallest of creatures (or the largest);
- Anything about the natural world;
- How your observation of an animal, insect, bird, or wildflower, etc. makes you feel;
- How nature and wildlife are vital to mental health and physical wellbeing.
- Write in any poetry form or style you wish.
Insomnia (voice recording-68 seconds) A Persian cat I become every night when I slide next to him in bed, but it matters not how silent or smooth, my efforts are for naught. What time is it? he asks, still full of sleep, he always needs to know what time it is. ‘3:04’ says the clock on the stand; just past midnight, I lie again and smile at his drool and the whistle of his snore as like a cat, I slide in to stare at the shadows that dance and I wait for sleep to claim me— so it goes, so it goes, and so it goes. * All rights reserved © selma In the voice of Selma-68 seconds 🎶 Aoi Teshima * Kagayaki no Niwa - I'm not alone.
My friends, here’s a little self-promotion for the smooth sailing of
my new poetry collection. Oh, if you haven’t heard? Please take a look:
I would be ever so grateful for any kind of support you may lend me
as I follow in the shadows of those who have traveled this road before me.
Thanks beforehand.
Book Launch: Saturday, July 15th
