Senryu:
Syllabic poetry that’s written about love, human foibles relating to a personal event, or awkward moments, and should have an element of irony present in the form.
A Senryu has no title and for this one, I used the traditional 5-7-5 form. Hope the
words speak to you.

Once you stop rushing through life, you will be amazed how much more life you have time for.

When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It’s to enjoy each step along the way.

Ahh!! Wonderful. And the dance quote is just right since I am to write poem for a challenge on “dance” and it will stand as its opening. 🙂

I just love it when something like that happens. The universe conspires to get these messages to us. Use what serves you best, dear friend. It was put there for that purpose. For YOU 💕
      I bless you.

I wish more schools would realise this! All they teach kids is how to be competitive. No wonder they’re all depressed by the time they reach teenage.

  4. Selma Martin

So very true. I wish schools would do exactly that! Thanks for reading, sweet friend. I’m glad you came. xo

Wow, super profound! Succinct yet super deep- a style so unique to you. I want the saying “Life’s goal is not the grave” printed in a T-shirt or engraved in a journal. It’s powerful and stunning! Loved this! 💖

It didn’t. I got it loud and clear: You want the words printed on T-shirt or journal. p; 👏
Sure why not. Go for it my sweets.
Glad you appreciate that line. 💕

indeed — came across something like a “meme” or “image thingy” – it said: Stop the glorification of busy — love this

all we do is mad rush, and yet, all we’re really doing then, is racing to our own graves …. it’s a bit like thinking on ‘what will they put on your headstone?’ (he gave his life for X company/ she carpooled the X-team for years/ s/he died for the love of texting) ???!

I don’t know if your familiar with the T.V. series Mash? Anyhow, in one episode, the commander of the unit, Colonel Potter says to his chief surgeon, Dr. Hawkeye Pierce – (to paraphrase) – the only person I have to be better than is myself – and I think this speaks clearly and is indicative of wisdom we all could remember …..

loved your senryu and the quotes – and the image! haha! gotta always love the “bugs” ….

So true! I think yoga is so challenging because it’s about standing still. I’ve never like being to busy. Enjoyed this! 💓

    1. Selma Martin

Hi, Tricia. I think it’s tue what you say about yoga. That idea is indeed hard to see as bringing benefits when stillness feels like being counter productive. Thanks for reading and the valuable comment.
