Which Moon Turns You Into A Lovesick Loon? #Poem

Not a cloud in the heavens
interrupted her ascent
as she glid in slow motion
reaching her highest intent

like a winged giant goddess
heedful was the goldenrod
the stars succumbed to silence
and I heard her speak to God

"I’m coming, wait up, wait up.
I have a bright idea.
It’s the perfect time to prod them:
they're not alone down there."

Then from atop-- pearlescent,
she turned to me and winked
I gasped and at that moment,
the stars turned on their blink

ablaze with the exuberance
of her luscious buttermilk glow
Luna curtsied, pirouetted,
and my way a kiss did blow

mesmerized by her affection
my heart, like a tidal-wave, flexed
so I promised to bear witness
to whatever would come next

she looked at me with kindness
and started her regal descent
but the mountains gushed up to meet her
so with the trees, my pregnant moon rests.

Here’s a friendly reminder, in case you haven’t noticed, but the Harvest Moon appears full from Monday night into Thursday night this week in October, and I don’t want you to miss it.

According to The Maine Farmer’s Almanac, the Algonquin tribes, in what is now the northeastern U.S., called the full Moon in October the Travel Moon, the Dying Grass Moon, or the Sanguine or Blood Moon. But there are other names to add to this list.
All with lovely histories.

Also, according to the Nasa Website, as of October 16th, 2021, the new name of Lucy
Moon has been added to that list.

Another name for this full Moon is the Lucy Moon, for the NASA mission named Lucy that is set to launch on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021, at 5:34 a.m. EDT on a journey to the Trojan asteroids.

Nasa Website, Full Moon Guide

“Lucy in the sky with diamonds,” (you know where that comes from, right?)

Today I wish to regale you with a poem and all this lovely information, confident that you too are a lunatic like me.

Happy moon-gazing, my lovelies, and I wish you miracles.

Glad to hear. Nothing is sadder than knowing the moon is out there and the clouds stand in the way. The moon and I connected last night. Not so sure we will tonight as we have overcast skies. But I have my fingers crossed for tomorrow– the big day. Stay beautiful, dear friend. I bless you. xo

we’re all lunatics, I should hope, in the best sense of the word …. how lovely the moon in her fair skin ….

I really love the imagery you’ve woven in your poem, all magick and sparkles and light …. it’s dreamy and easy and feels …….. good. Just the right medicine for this Monday – moon medicine! And so I wish you Bright Moon Blessings this moon-filled week – may you be cleansed and re-filled with her beauty — hope you have happy viewing weather 🙂

Moon medicine, indeedy! Glad you liked that, WildChild. Last night, Monday, she and I connected. Aww so lovely. Not sure we’ll visit tonight as the clouds are obnoxious today, but that will make it even sweeter tomorrow Wednesday when she’ll be in her splendor-est form. Be well, my sweets. We are looking at the same moon. xoxo

yes, it’s mind blowing when we consider, oceans apart, yet still, the very same moon – that’s a miracle really – but then the universe is chock filled! glad that it’s turning out to be good communing – I’ll wait and see what comes this eve 😉

be well and safe – joy + peace my friend 🙂

Reading this poem felt like meditation. A real masterpiece! The image matches your words so well and I love how this piece is so delightfully rich in imagery and magic. “So with the trees, my pregnant moon rests.”- wow, a powerful way to finish off the brilliant piece! Lucy moon does sound rather poetic! We are all lunatics indeed 😉 Again, this gorgeous poem makes me smile.

      Thank you.
