The days sure have become hot, humid, and long. A lot more daylight
than I like to consume. Um, I think that’s just the problem. The
amount of light we get here in Japan makes one lethargic. It does feel
to me as if the somnolence of 2 p.m is on all day.
So, let’s blame it on that. For this theme prompt for Colleen’s Word Craft: Prose
and Poetry, Tanka Tuesday, I delved deep. The word is EXPEDITION, selected by
Donna Matthews, who I want to introduce to you all.
I chose the Etheree format once again– alternating with reversed verses that look
lovely on the page.
An Etheree focuses on one idea or subject with a memorable message within the count of 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-+ syllables. The poem is unrhymed but should contain rhythm and flow; it should have a title and include a sense of meaning, emphasizing imagery. ~ Page 177~ in The Art of Crafting Syllabic Poetry by Colleen M.
