It’s Not All Roses. It’s All Roses. I Decide Which

Even before the big change at TheTwitter, I have been invisible on that platform.
And it has only gotten worst. Time and again, I’ve replied to tweets: Adding kind
words, funny GIFs, and so on, but those tweets fail to see daylight.

I have yet to figure out what has made it so, but I’m tired of wondering. So, if
one day they make me vanish, please don’t be surprised.

For now, all I can do is retweet and like. Everything else is elusive. Look for yourself
at the notice and the ghost tweets that linger until I’m tired of retrying.

But I am invincible! And so are my friends.
For now, I will piggy-ride on Twitter.

And will continue learning how to
add things like links and stickers on my reels on Instagram.
And will support anyone who wins my admiration and respect.
Are you on IG? Please say hello and tell me how I can help you.

Dawwwlings, the reviews have started appearing on Amazon.
Leave it to my friends to give me the heads-up. And so I looked: THREE!

How very cool.
(I’ll showcase in groups of three)

Selma knows the secret to wooing shadows
she's walked in "the bluing hour"
"shrilling like kettle on the boil"

allow yourself to escape
and "let go and revel
in the luminous afterglow"

quotes pulled from favorite poems

You won't be disappointed!
(my wife suggested this book and I wasn't!)

>> This is Tricia Sankey
poet and author of The Light in the Cave
And she tells me that Amazon was glitchy at the
time she tried posting under her name. Thus, she did it under another
account. Thank you, Tricia. You are my kind of wonderful! <<

Next level poetry

The range and reach of the emotions explored in this book is somewhere far,
far beyond brilliant. I truly could not put the volume down once I started
reading this series of deeply relatable and powerful poems, and that's not
the sort of thing that has ever happened to me before with any other poetry
book. The poet's wisdom and wit shines through her words and lived
experiences, even as the tone of her verses remains eminently humble and
relatable. I'm sitting here, still feeling wow'd... I simply cannot
recommend Selma Martin's poetry book to you enough, as cliché as that may
sound (and would probably sound to me too)!

>> David, my friend--David Bogomolny of The Skeptic's Kaddish 🇮🇱, poet
extraordinaire. You are my kind of wonderful! Thanks from the bottom
of my heart <<

Wonderful Book of Poetry!
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on July 15, 2023
I have enjoyed reading this author's poetry on her blog for a while
now, so I was very excited when I heard she was creating a book of
her poems. I absolutely loved this collection. The author/poet has
an essence about her that draws you in. Some poems create beautiful
stories that weave throughout the stanzas. Many of her poems focus on
nature and immerse you in the stunning world around us. Her imagery
grasps you and makes you one with the poetry. Her use of alliteration,
rhyme, and rhythm bring melodic music to her words. Here is a stanza
from one of my favorites:

Tears of rage and anger
stain her eyelids maroon
as she rots slow like moldering topsoil
- Her Mind, poem

Other poems that I really loved are August Trio, Let Go, You Know Her,
Nature's Tender Doings, Poetry, and Poseidon's Lure. The diversity of
her poetry is vast, and there is something for everyone. If you enjoy
surrounding yourself with powerful imagery, glimpses of life and nature,
and slices of everyday life, then do yourself a favor and grab a copy of
this collection of poetry. It's wonderful! :-)

>> My kind of wonderful! Yvi, Author of the award-winning Chronicles of the
Diasodz and many more. I'm so moved. Thank you <<

And so you see, this is why I decide to see and celebrate it’s all roses and
why my team and I are invincible!

Top that, Twitter!!

Twitter has been awful lately. I would try deleting the app and logging back in. Sometimes a reser helps, sometimes not.

    1. Selma Martin

A reset… You could be right.
Twitter was different when I joined. People were kind and asked good questions. Now, I don’t know where everyone is. And the questions…
And what’s more, no one seems to see me. Oh well…
Thanks for being a friendly face on twitter. Blessings.

Not being seen is a common complaint I’ve heard from others. I seem to be an island by myself on both IG and Twitter these days. Not sure what changed. Wish I had an answer.

Also, I would love to share a couple of your posts for your new book on IG, just need to figure out how that works. 🦋💕

  2. Maria Michaela

I’m not on Twitter just because I don’t feel the need. maybe they’re experiencing technical difficulties? 🤷

    1. Selma Martin

It’s the new management… it can’t be helped. Thanks for being a positive voice here, Maria. I bless you.

  3. beth

not a huge fan of twitter but I’m sure that’s frustrating. happy for your positive reviews!

    1. Selma Martin

Thanks, Beth. When it came to choosing between FB or Twitter, I chose Twitter because I could understand it better… It was a happy positive platform. Now, I don’t know. Thanks for celebrating the happy reviews with me. Blessings befall you, sweet one. xoxo

  4. ben Alexander

I’m on Twitter, but annoyed because my Twitter feed no longer shows up on my WP blog, which is one of the reasons I went to Twitter in the first place…

    1. Selma Martin

I understand what you mean. That’s really a bummer for us on WP. You know, it could be that many of the peeps you know have left too.
Now I understand Twitter even less. All the best to you, dear one. xoxo

    1. Selma Martin

Annette, ((hugs)) thanks so very much, my sweet. Blessings…

  5. Ingrid

Congratulations on the rave reviews, Selma! I wouldn’t lose any sleep over Twitter, I don’t think it’s such an important platform.

    1. Selma Martin

Not important, for sure. You can tell by what’s trending now. Let’s celebrate the positive and for now that’s with the reviews. xoxo Thanks, Ingrid.

    1. Selma Martin

Thanks, dear Sadje. It’s a good time for a good time. Bless you, dear one. xoxo

  6. Melissa Lemay

I deleted all social media (not that I had much to begin with) years ago and it has freed up time in my life. Best thing I ever did. So many people (not you) saying so many useless things. I use WordPress (obv) and I am on Medium, too, now. Both writing platforms.

    1. Selma Martin

I can totally understand how doing that frees us of time. I never imagined being on social media, ever! but here I am. But I try not it let me rule any area of my life. And it’s true, useless nonsense at every turn. Makes one wonder what’s happening to people.
You’re on Medium? Me too, though I haven’t published since February there. Medium makes me feel like a squirrel in a rush. It’s a wonderful platform but it’s way too fast for me. Makes my head spin so I take breaks. I looked for you, but…
look me up and befriend me, why don’t you, so I get notified of your posts. Blessings, dear Melissa. Stay sweet.

        1. Selma Martin

I see you did. Thanks so much. Keep going, sweet one. Keep growing. Here’s looking at you. XoXo

  7. Melissa Lemay

PS: (sometimes I get sidetracked🙃) wonderful reviews about your book. I hope to read it soon.❤️

    1. Selma Martin

No worries, it happens to all of us. Blessings on your Wednesday. xoxo

    1. Selma Martin

Thanks Yvi, you are too sweet. BTW, I adjusted the line on your name. Forgive the way I had it before. All the best dearest one.

And Yvi, did Amazon remove my review? I don’t see it. That’s the other thing, someone said it’s a common thing now with Amazon–what the hell? Let’s not fret. Blessings.

      1. yvettemcalleiro

I still see the review there. They denied the first one I put because I stated I received the book in exchange for an honest review. So, I removed that line and resubmitted it. I just checked, and it’s there. 🙂

  8. Selma Martin

He-he, yes, I saw that… now we are friends. You post lovely nature photos. I love that. For now, I’m mostly about the book. Thanks for being a lovely presence in my social media journey too. xoxo

Thanks for stopping. Comments mean the world to me. Won't you please leave one?
