A few days ago I sat for yet another interview and this time with a popular online
magazine whose About Page reads something like this:
Living life boldly means exposing yourself to all sorts of risk – risk of loss, risk of criticism and judgement, risk of mental, emotional, or physical distress. It’s no wonder, so many of us are raised to not live boldly, to not take risks, to not push ourselves to reach our highest potential. In our view, one of the best ways to deal with those challenges is to learn from the stories and experiences of others. We think it’s insane that after thousands of years of human civilization, it is still so hard to find stories related to the problems you might be facing at any given moment. Our mission is to create a space for all of us to learn from each other. We believe the stories, experiences and insights of our neighbors, friends and peers are worth more than all the wealth in the world as these stories are the most relevant and authentic sources of wisdom.
BoldJourney prepares a hefty questionnaire from which you choose the questions you
wish to answer. From their dropdown menu, I chose to talk about optimism. If this topic
is of interest to you and you wish to hear my thoughts on the subject, please click the

Where does your optimism come from?
This will sound to some as cliche, but at the end of the day, when I
check to see that the knob on my analog alarm clock is set to ON,
I say thanks to the old-fashioned thing and then, “See you in the morning.”
In the morning, upon hearing the clock’s muffled ring (muffled because
I’ve wrapped a few rubber bands on the bell portion; the original
infallible vibration of the artifact eventually came to sound too urgent
for slow rising), I say thanks to it again and this time tell it, “It’s gonna
be another fantastic day!” I’m an optimist, you see, and you will always
find me whispering to inanimate objects too.

I hope you clicked to read the interview and that you came out of it more
encouraged as that’s the idea in my Sunday Press and this one is no exception.
Incidentally, at the bottom of the interview page, you can find a link to be
interviewed by BoldJourney. [my gift to YOU].
