Day Nine
on APRIL 9, 2022
Happy poetry writing, friends. Glad to be here on the second Saturday of
Na/GloPoWriMo where our “optional” daily prompt asks us to write in a specific
form – the nonet! A nonet has nine lines. The first line has nine syllables, the
second, eight, and so on until you get to the last line, which has one.
However far you scheme to venture
A quest for purpose and maxims
Pending the journey, fish deep
Pirouette and take note
Inmost brawn locate
Nozzled within
Elixirs
Stellar
Sweet

Hope you enjoyed the nonet/acrostic poem I penned for you today.
I’m also following the prompt at Word Craft Poetry’s Tanka Tuesday, where the week calls for color. Happiness has a color, dear friends, and that’s the color of your
choice: Elixir if you will.
Have a great weekend, everyone. I bless you and wish you happiness and miracles.

I just finished reading the poem “So Much Happiness” by Naomi Shihab Nye and now you grace the world with thoughts of happiness, too. Today will be a happy day. With gratitude.
Isn’t it a wonder how the universe conspires to get these messages to us? I set my antenna towards the sky, tune my frequency to the earth’s and I’m in awe at how everything works.
Kathryn, you’re an Angel. Not only for reading the words of this writer but for the friendship we share through the miles. I bless you. Stay sweet.
Nicely done! Happiness is the color of elixir! ❤️
I’m so happy you agree, dear Ruth. It’s elixir 😃 💜
Happiness does have a color! I like the advice to “fish deep”
It does, doesn’t it. So glad you agree. Thanks my sweet. Blessings to you for a sunny day of rest.
A nonet AND an acrostic? Wow–amazing!💜

Amazing acrostic nonet you’ve written…and the shape looks like a good way to “funnel” in happiness! I think of “happy” as daffodil yellow 🙂
Daffodil yellow. Yes. Like that too. xoxo
