Day12 Glo/NaPoWriMo: A Smile (Small) Act With Big Results

A SMILE (er, SMALL) ACT WITH BIG RESULTS

A
crooked
line that pulls
on my lips is
the breadth that exists
between the two of us
so I heed the call every
morn to never go anywhere
near you lacking that uneven line
that I give to you in teeth-full sizes.
That wrinkles my nose and squints up my eyes
but more times than not, brighten me back.
There've been times they've gone unnoticed
failed to score a line in kind
I know none deserves it
more than those who don't
have one to give
back to me
at the
time

An Etheree consists of 10 lines of syllabic count going from 1 to 10. It can also be reversed going from 10 to 1 syllables per line. More verses in this form are encouraged
but I wrote this one for you with two sets. Add a title to your etheree poetry.

Day Twelve

on APRIL 12, 2022

Today’s prompt (optional, as always) should come as no surprise.
Yesterday, I challenged you to write a poem about a very large thing.
Today, I’d like you to invert your inspiration, and write a poem about
a very small thing. Whether it’s an atom, a button, a hummingbird’s egg,
dollhouse furniture, or the mythical world’s smallest violin, I hope you
enjoy your poetic adventures into the microscopic.
Getting to the heart of things.

The reflection of a rainbow in my coffee cup
I kid you not: coffee with a generous dash of cinnamon and a stowaway rainbow. I smiled.

I remember watching shows where two peoples who do not speak the same language – just smile and all the world is the better for it!
