How are you, friends? Are you enjoying the season?
Knock on wood. I’m sure I’ve come to deserve a spring like this one: The sense of foreboding I used to feel at the start of every spring has evaporated. I still look like the woman in the photo below when outdoors, but now, the symptoms don’t linger or make me explode into fits of sneezing throughout the night.
The hazy sluggish feeling in my head has lifted, and my itchy breathing canals are clear now too. And I’m pretty sure this is so thanks to mouth masks, the globally approved item we’ve learned to accept as non-intrusive to the dress code.
Here in Japan, everyone wears them. I do, too, in the spring but hated them. Not anymore– they’ve saved me.
Knowing that my cedar pollen allergies run until May, I’ll be donning my mask and goggles until then and continue to count my blessings.
How about you, dear friends? Do you have any sobering thoughts about those masks?
May the pulsating heartbeat of the season, its pollen, and its crinkling noises not prevent you from enjoying the explosion of earth songs come alive everywhere.
Let’s all listen, notice, reap the best of the season as it unfolds– go deeper, fully, sprightly.

Oh, yes. I am. Thanks. I seldom if ever get fevers. This time I was its slave. And know what? Fevers tire one out. Wow! Gosh, my body ached & tired. Can’t imagine going through this alone.

I have always hated wearing mask and it is even more difficult to wear one when your asthmatic and always out of breathe but it did me a great help though, after covid we were all forced to wear one and it actually helps with my many other allergy conditions. I can feel you dear Selma this time of the year is the hardest for us, I wish you well. Stay blessed and healthy. xoxo

It is hard indeed to wear a mask when suffering from allergies or such-like. I personally feel safer than I have ever had before in public; wearing a mask gives me a sense of protection that I enjoy. Love the little proverb too; so well said!

My mask kept my face warm in cold weather. I wear in when I scoop the litter box and sometimes when I brush the dog. Maybe I should wear it outside. This is the first year I’ve had to take allergy medicine practically every day.
I would recommend you do, JoAnna. Gosh, you’ll “feel” the difference. And then you won’t need to swallow no pills. 😁 👏

I get quite bad hayfever, but it never occurred to me that a mask might help with this!
Take it from me. It does. Don’t go out without one during allergy season. I know. 😉
My one son is the volunteer Hazardous Materials cheif in our area – he made a video about masks and other PPE (personal protective Equiptment) – most of the masks and things like gloves any anything for anything – (but the simpler ones produced for Covid) really just protect others from you. But if you have a really good mask and those goggles… that help your filter your allergies – Good for you!! Stay healthy!!
We used to live in another state where the pollen came in and stayed. Thankfully we are just a tad closer to the coast and the winds help to blow some of them away. Enjoy the visuals of this late spring. We are supposed to get some thunder storms today. But it is already 61F.

What I am still quite confused about – well some have not had any Covid shots due to health, but those who are healthy who refuse. Very scary. Like folks who will not vacinate their children and then expect their children to be welcome in public schools…
