A Cethramtu Rannaigechta Moire Poem For Week of February 14th

Written for the W3 Prompt #94: Wea’ve Written Weekly at The Skeptic’s
Kaddish–posted on  by David.

Congratulations to Sally of The Hot Dogs and Marmalade Website.

I. The prompt poem:

‘A Dance for the Lonely’, a ‘san san’ by Sally

II. Sally’s prompt guidelines

  • Thematic (required): Travel;
    • Where would you like to go? What your favorite place you’ve been?
      Or, put into poetry some experience you’ve had while traveling!
  • Form (required): Cethramtu rannaigechta moire;
    • At least three stanzas.

Cethramtu rannaigechta moire?

The “cethramtu rannaigechta moire” poetic form has two fundamental requirements:

  1. Syllabic:
    • Each verse has four lines;
    • Each line has three syllables;
  2. Rhyming: The 2nd and 4th lines of each stanza rhyme;
  3. Any number of verses.

Those are the guidelines, dear friends. I leave it up to you to decide if my poem
meets the thematic requirement of Travel or not…

“I am an undisputed gangster. To me,
that means playing by my own rules.”

~ Katherine Ryan
(brainyquote)

I invite you to journey to the Happiness that alludes.
Don’t leave home without it on all your travels;
If you don’t take it with you, you will not find
it where you’re going.

TRAVEL

Happiness:
a tendril
that adheres
to the frills

of your kind
heart: a vine
of star nights;
days that shine

Happiness:
a promise
like the sun
falls on us

unhidden:
the moon bares
the sun’s oath
in solace.

Journey there
wide and far
every time
with you near

you’ll perceive
how the vine
wraps around
God’s design.
