For starters, this is the poem that made it happen for me. If you read it, thanks

W3 Poetry Prompts run weekly at The Skeptic’s Kaddish, since April 2022. It goes
live on Wednesdays. And this new week, I’m the PoW– Poet of The Week! How very cool, huh! And I get to decide the guidelines, so here they are:
W3 Prompts. Prompt #44: Wea’ve Written Weekly
First, I’d like to make you aware of Sundress Publication, an Instagram account,
that posts writing prompts all year long. This week’s prompt for W3 March 01st
comes from one prompt from that source I read/wrote for a while back in one of
Maureen Thorson’s April 2021 NaPoWriMo prompts. I hope you have fun with this
one.
The Prompt:
- Write a ‘prose poem’ in the form of a news article you wish would come out
tomorrow (imagine it will come out tomorrow).
Rules:
- Format your ‘prose poem’ like breaking news
- Give it a bold attractive title; A beginning/middle/end
- Make it a Good News account of something that will benefit us all
- Use strong, positive VERBS
- Add enough detail to make it believable/relieve us of some stress
- Not short, but not too long
- Have fun. Happy Writing!
Aside:
National Poetry Month is celebrated in April;
World Poetry Day, an initiative of the United Nations Educational, Scientific
and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), is a day to appreciate and support poets
and poetry around the world. It’s held yearly on March 21st.
