Hello, dear ones. Today I have a book review for Author Daphny Nianghoi’s book of
poetry. I submitted it hardly a few minutes ago, and before I could post it here, the
good folks at Amazon had thanked me for it. Oh, my! Speedy Gonzalez in action today.
Anyway, here we go.
BOOK REVIEW ON AMAZON
Write Out Loud by Daphny Nianghoi is a delightful short book of free-style poetry
that will touch every heart.
In young people (particularly if they’re introverts like the author), I can imagine them
nodding along as each poem reminds them of what they must be going through at
the moment.
In older readers, the group I belong to, and a lifetime introvert at that, bouts of
nostalgia will accompany you as you read. Indeed, everyone’s experience is different,
but on the surface, we know. Thus comes the knowing brow— the one you make when
the memory visits. And the nod.
Write Out Loud by Daphny Nianghoi is one of those rare books I purchased digitally
(rare because I hardly do this). And I’ll have you know that I obtained it during launch
when the book was free. Thanks soooo much, Ms. Nianghoi. What a pretty cover!
BUT– and I say this with some trepidation as I’m not too familiar with the how and what
other digital poetry books look like inside, but I’d have loved a page break or more
space between poems. Let each poem start on its own new page.
Poetry is aesthetic. To be read slowly. Paused and savored: now a recollection, now a
nod, before going on to the next. That’s why I need that blank space.
BUT, I’m quick to forgive this. The trip (through MY memory lane) thanks Ms. Nianghoi
for putting this wonderful project together and gifting it to the world.
The words she birthed in this short poetry collection are every bit deserving of a 5-star
review which I’m giving this book.
I met this prolific writer in the blogging world. She’s someone whose stories and poems
I’ve read before. And then she disappeared— haha, it was to work on completing this
project. What a joy to know this!
All the poems in this book are new to me. And I adored them all; therefore, I’m sure you
will too. But for that, you’ll need to purchase the book, which I hope you do after
reading this review.
Pay attention to “Chasing Sunsets” and “This Is Me” as these two ranked tops in my
faves. And please, do read her About page, preface, contents, and such to fall in love
with this budding new writer that I will support from now on, so I hope to see more
from her.
An aside that I left out of the Amazon review:
I know that Amazon imposes strict restrictions on authors, especially those of us living
in Asia. I know from that one experience I had with them many moons ago. (A topic I
might discuss at a future date).
After that experience, I imagine that perhaps Ms. Nianghoi had to restrict space in
order to give the book for free. (which is what I wanted to do with mine but couldn’t).
I’m speculating here but would have gladly paid for Write Out Loud had it come to that.

This sounds like a wonderful collection of poetry.
Those restrictions are annoying and frustrating. I once had to ‘dumb down’ an eBook of mine to avoid excessive delivery fees which would have cost more than the sale price, ugh.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Selma. Hugs 💕🙂
Thanks for reading
