Hey friends. Apologies. I’ve been trying to clean out my website of old things collecting dust, and inadvertently sent out two blog posts I didn’t mean to publish. What’s wrong with me! Forgive. Those two are incomplete; will be hard to make out. Please forgive
the blunder.
And so to make up for that, here’s a short poem that’s complete.
“The beach is not always a place,
sometimes it’s a feeling.” — Unknown
Old Man casts his net and pulls hard Bulging the tide on the moon's side Yet Sea fights back for inertia First tide, then another-- surf tides Sea rises with him skedaddled Tangled in net, a stowaway— Sea Breeze from yonder come hither Stay longer my thieving gray jay When tide is low I dream of you At high tide, I want to escape This time you came with the moonbeams Till next moon with me breakaway Together with me retire You're my gift, my heart's desire *** © 2021 selmamartin.com

Hey, August, Thanks for getting us to September.
You lived up to your name– You can go now…
If you can’t travel to that home, that holds childhood echoes of the past, but you want to hard enough, home finds a way of reaching you. Sometimes home comes in
the wind, or as a stowaway in the nets of fishermen. Just sayin’…
I wrote this poem at the end of August when it brought me just such a breeze. Soothed my soul. But now, I’m so glad it’s September. Hope you enjoyed the poem.
Thanks for reading, I wish you miracles.
