Young Adults and Adult Readers Will Love This Book

Yvette M. Calleiro is the author of the Chronicles of the Diasodz fantasy series,
HYPE, and two short stories. As a heavily addicted reader of both young adult and
adult novels, she spends most of her time pseudo-living in paranormal worlds with
her fictional friends (and boyfriends).

When she’s living among real people, she is a middle school Reading and Language
Arts teacher. She’s been sharing her love of literature with her students for
over twenty years. Besides writing about the various characters that whisper (and
sometimes scream) in her head, she enjoys traveling, watching movies, spending
quality time with family and friends, and enjoying the beauty of the ocean.

Yvette lives in Miami, Florida, with her incredible son who has embraced her love
for paranormal and adventurous stories. She also shares her space with an
assortment of crazy saltwater animals in her 300-gallon tank.

My Review of The One Chosen: A Diasodz Short Story by Yvette M Calleiro
What a concept: 17th-century Diasodz Warriors

The One Chosen: A Diasodz Short Story is my first taste of Author Yvette M Calleiro’s novel writing. And what an excellent way to be introduced.

In The One Chosen, a story of 79-pages (the length of a novelette or novella) that satisfies like a full-length novel, I felt Author Calleiro did an excellent job of
developing the characters. And her world-building: splendid!

The author engages us with a refreshing concept: a school where all youngsters whose
earth years have ended; in other words, those who’ve arrived at their death date go to
become Warriors—17th-century Diasodz warriors. Wow!

There’s Magic and fantasy here; young drama and romance too: sure to entertain young adults and adult readers. A perfect gift for any season.

The One Chosen is the prequel to the Chronicles of the Diasodz series. It can stand alone, but this kind of writing has piqued my interest that I now desire to read the rest of the series.

Thanks for writing this and sharing it with the world. I purchased the digital copy of this book, but for sure wish to add the printed book to my collection of great reads. Kudos to Author Yvette M Calleiro: a great book anyone would be happy to carry to an evening of reading pleasure. I recommend—5-stars from Selma in Japan.

I linked you to Yvette M. Calleiro’s two websites. I met Yvette at Colleen Cheesebro’s

Yvette. I thought it best to start at the start… how lovely a beginning to your series. It was intriguing.
And I’m so glad to do this: you’ve been so supportive of my work here and I reciprocate kindness of this nature the best I can. Perhaps my pace is too slow but I will not apologize as this is the best I can do. I will purchase the others and review when I can. Stay sweet, my lovely. Thanks. And congratulations on being such a lovely published author with such a big heart. Xoxo I wish you miracles. 💗

Thank you so much, Selma! Believe it or not, The One Chosen was the one I wrote most recently. Lol! It was an afterthought for a submission to a short story contest with RRBC. I’m now working on book six of the series, which will be the last full-length novel, but I may write more short stories at some point. I just love the world and characters so much, so I’m sure I’ll revisit them every now and then. Happy reading! 🙂

What a great review Selma 🙂 I loved this prequel too and the whole series! Such a great world Yvette created.

Hey D.L. So happy you liked.
… I saw you found me on Amazon. Gosh, thanks. The brevity of that snippet needs a bit explanation: joined an 8-wk class whose last assignment was to publish on Amazon. I compiled my anthology of 6-8 stories. But then failed with the formatting of the whole thing. In the end I opted for just one story and completed my assignment. THAT was the result.

Want to update it. Add to it but I am stuck.

Thanks for leaving me a piece of your heart there. You made me smile. Again, thanks sincerely. I WILL try it again one day.
