World Citizens In Solidarity With Ukraine: An Espresso Moment #poetry

I’d like everyone who reads to come away feeling gladdened and revitalized,
like when one drinks a sobering shot of espresso. Therefore, espresso is the name
I’m giving these short poems I’m about to start sharing with you.

If espresso is not what you like to consume, think of these as escapades to indulge
in your favorite non-alcoholic drink. After all, we want you sober. *wink*

So please, express your thoughts (expressos) or share a linko in the comments
of this espresso, or stop long enough to simply enjoy a cuppa with me.

they're here, at their posts,
the soldiers
their eyes resemble
*escolars
they take deep breaths,
raised shoulders--
rehearsals for the last

*escolar — noun: large snake mackerel with rings like spectacles around its eyes

How’s this ominous poem for sobering? It’s pretty glum, I know. But it crept into my dream last night and I must tell. Even the Ukraine President has tired eyes (rightly so). God help us, everyone. I stand with Ukraine.

>>And I don’t want to think about any soldiers rehearsing anything. Stop the war!

World Citizens In Solidarity With Ukraine: An Espresso Moment No.2

"The place to improve the world is first in one's
own heart
and head and hands,
and then work outward from there.
"The only Zen you can find on the tops of mountains is the
Zen you bring up there.
"It is not good to talk about Zen, because Zen is
nothingness...
If you talk about it, you are always lying, and if you
don't talk about it,
no one knows it is there."

  4. Nope, Not Pam

I’m not too sure the soldiers even want to be there ☹️

    1. Selma Martin

Right you are. They probably don’t know.

      мир (myr) Peace. Only peace.

      Peace. Only peace.

Invite that calm headspace into your life. Never anything more needed today.
      I bless you.

Let’s make the amount of espresso a lil bit more so we can all sit and sip together in peace, let our soldier’s rehearse only to celebrate all the happy occasions with it’s people. I stand by you dear Selma, sending you lots of love. ❤️

Your second poem is one of the best I’ve read lately, Selma. I adore how you weave the quotes into the piece. It is spot on about knowing and not knowing. Amazing write. 🇺🇦💛💙
