“Love makes your soul crawl
out from its hiding place.”
~ Zora Neale Hurston
the path to love is rife
with distortions, viz,
such all-consuming thing
cannot exist, a mere illusion,
a perfection too draining
—a feverish marathon that
none wins
~Love cannot be underestimated or overpraised~
It occurs when the waters recede
and still, but to some, the isle
in the middle of the fevered ocean
is nothing but a mirage.
In quiet transcendence,
a gain as sweet as love.

Then I saw that you were not perfect
and
I loved you even more.” ~ Angelita Lim

Selma, I love how you capture the paradoxical nature of love, portraying it as a consuming illusion and a draining perfection! How wonderfully written… ! <3

Selma this is exceptional! The bridge does indeed tie it all together and I enjoyed crossing from one point of view to the other! Running toward what could be a mirage and then stopping when the waters of reality reveal the truth of love – brilliant!
