Tucking Mother In With Grateful Slumber Kisses #TankaTuesday #CallToEarth

Grateful Slumber Kisses

earthened
they let themselves
let go and gently land
on the face of her who fed them
mother
energy drained-- her turn to sleep
but not till her offspring
kiss their goodnights
grateful

For Colleen Chesebro’s Word Craft: Prose & Poetry where I took
up the prompt to write a butterfly cinquain and include a color:
earth tone– umber, ochre, and sienna. (Taste the rainbow.)
Thanks for the lovely prompt option which made me think of a
story I used to read to my own babies, about a sleep-deprived
mother tucked in by her babies.

Write a butterfly cinquain (2-4-6-8-2-8-6-4-2) and include a color.
Remember, colors can be a metaphor for feelings such as someone’s blue
when they are sad. Sometimes when we mention a particular flower’s name,
it brings the color of the flower to mind. The butterfly cinquain below
is a rainbow of flower colors with only one color mentioned. Colors are
a great way to show vivid imagery in your poetry.

"The Happiness of Flowers"

lilacs,
red daylilies,
lily of the valley,
lavender, and delphinium—
flowers
that bring joyfulness to my heart
tending the soil with love,
rainfall awards
new growth

Could you please suggest me, which WordPress plan I must buy to get copyright?

    1. Selma Martin

Jane, you’re asking me a question that I don’t understand. What do you mean? Copyright of what?

      1. Jane Aguiar

May I know what plan of WordPress you are you using? Because I’m not able to download plugin to get copyright for my site; just to prevent people from copy pasting my content.

        1. Selma Martin

People are copy/pasting YOUR words? I’m sad it’s happening to you too. It’s happening to me … so rude!

Someone, anyone, please correct me if I’m wrong, but this is how I understand it:
Copyright protection on a website is for the content on THAT website, and YOU assign copyright.
There is no need to register YOUR original work for it to be copyrighted: as soon as YOU create an original piece of art, for example, YOU have automatic copyright on the resulting work.

Words — if they are YOUR WORDS, or your ORIGINAL work and they sit in a tangible medium of expression — “like on your website,” belong to you!

Again, the content on YOUR website qualifies as intellectual property that can be copyrighted if the work is original, is owned by YOU, (the owner of the website) and is clearly described as such.
Again, YOUR website is protected the minute it goes “live” on a server; you don’t have to register the copyright for it to be effective.

Put a copyright notice on every page of your website, and include the year >> “[Copyright] (you may copy/paste this symbol: The © symbol) [year] [website name].” And update the year regularly.

In addition to being able to assign copyright “rights” to your website, you can also license it, or use it for funding, AND YOU MAY ALSO collect royalties when OTHERS use YOUR copyrighted work.

BUT we bloggers/creatives are a polite bunch of people who respect creativity more than we wish to collect royalties, as we have an unspoken communion with that place that gives rise to words.

We never use other people’s words without proper attribution, always quote our sources— giving the original blogger credit for their work. Always!
This is not only common sense, but the right thing to do.

Hope something I said helps. Be well. I bless you.

I just replied. Please check it out, Jane. 💕good night.

Wonderful piece, Selma. Beautifully expressed as always. Love it.💕❤️💕

  5. SamSahana

May I say, stunning work as always! Love the beautiful comparison to a sleep deprived mother tucking in her children- a comparison never thought of before, I’m sure. Succinct and sweet.
Yeah, We’re pen pals!! *Flaunts proudly* 😉

    1. Selma Martin

Aww, you may, my pen pal. Stunning are you.
      Glad you liked it.
Stay sweet but stay alert because wolf boy is on the prowl again.
How long can I ignore him, I wonder? Reblogging without a heads up is unethical. Lacks human decency and Courtesy for other people’s words.
      😤 🤦🏻‍♀️ 😳 💔

Oh my, what an absolutely stunning image – you must have felt like you were wrapped in a sweet fruit – an orange or tangerine perhaps? 😉 wow – just lovely – such is Autumn!

And your poem is so delightful – soft and cradling – a perfect fit to compliment the image, although it more than holds it own very well. 🙂

A lovely tribute to autumn. (K)
