the reed cutter returns to the marshes today, there are no pale purple lilies, no creeping shrubs merging into a sea of fields of goldenrods and silver grass but the reeds still stand as tall as children the reed cutter stares up at the blithe clouds his eyes twinkle into the cold crisp wind his soul's red and inflamed with remembrance © 2022 selmamartin.com
Hello, lovely people, and happy new month, the last one in this year of growth and
Becoming.
I hope you clicked on the play button above, as figuring out how to get that to work
for me here on WordPress took some good hours of heavy lifting. I watched
YouTube tutorials; shun some and stuck to those that required less work.
I recorded it on the voice memo on my iPhone and saved it on Keep, but for the
life of me, I couldn’t figure out where that thing was saved. And how to add it to the
audio portion of WordPress. Jeez, I suffered.
But that tech suffering pales in comparison to the shedding of inhibitions and stretching of my comfort zone I had to achieve.
Ok, I’ll say no more, except thanks for listening. This is the first time I’ve done that.
Hopefully, the brevity of the poem disguised my nervousness.
Merry Old Christmas is Here!
“Christmas itself may be called
into question
If carried so far
it creates indigestion.”

WordPress has made adding video and audio so difficult lately. And now Jetpack wants to charge me for adding videos to my blog. Like you, I’ll be looking for a workaround. Beautiful poem and reading, Selma 💕🙂
This is the first time I add audio. It was hard! But then again I’m not smart in tech ways. Gosh.
Jetpack wants to charge?! What’s going on? Goodness…
I’m so pleased to hear you enjoyed my reading. Thanks. Blessing you.
This is so very lovely! I enjoyed listening to you read the poem. Good for you persevering to add the recording. I tried once to add a recording of bird sounds I made, but I ended up just giving up!
Yes. I persevered. This loving community keeps me stretching. I’m so pleased to know you enjoyed the reading. This is encouraging. I hope to do it every Thursday this month.
My December Special for my lovelies.
Let me know if I can help you to figure the audio. Will be happy to. Bless you. Xoxo
Hope all is merry and bright for you. Xoxox
Next time I try it, I may have questions for you!
Let me know. I’ll be there to help. Xoxo
A beautiful poem, so beautifully recited Selma
Sadje, doing that made me shed some inhibition I’ve carried around for very long. Thanks for liking it and calling it beautiful. Aww. You rock.
I intend to do it once a week in December. Please listen. Thanks.
Yes very true that stepping out of our comfort zone is a big step but helps us grow. Looking forward to next poem.
Sometimes those remember landscapes are the most real. (K)

Aww, Ruth. Thanks. I’ve always had negative feels about my mousy voice. Glad you liked hearing to have a voice to go with the name. Thanks for acknowledging me. Bless you.

hopeful words! ❤️
So pleased you landed on this one, dear Cindy.
In the poetry collection I’m “trying to” put together I reference these reeds. This is a sad true story that reminds me how lucky I am.
I’m so happy you read it. Thanks so much for commenting. Xoxo

Two very lovely poems, beautifully spoken. My hat is off to you, Selma. I too, struggle with technology and am reluctant to record my voice, though I have thought of doing so many times. <3
Hey, Cheryl, I so appreciate you catching this one as well. Like I said, shedding of inhibitions was hard. I’m still not over that, but from replies I got, I’m glad I put myself out this way. Will I do it again? Dunno… Let me know if you need help. I’m not the best one with tech but I can tell you how I did it. I bless you, Cheryl. My hat off to you, m’lady. You rock. Merry Christmas. xoxo
