The Sacred Corollary Of Love

“But you know something, ladies and gents,
in every heavenly body’s
life every now and again, all the planets just
sort of fall into alignment,
and the entire universe seems to conspire
to create ‘one shiny moment’.
This was mine.”

~ Words of Bette Midler in YouTube Video attached.

A thousand sunsets
A thousand sunrises
Flooding the sky, the sea,
Virulent hearts and love
Seeds in hues of gold

A thousand sunsets
A thousand sunrises—
Eye of the sun, a slow sliding

Incandescence binding me whole—
Passionate yet tender
Like my love’s sweet breath

A thousand sunsets
A thousand sunrises, and
Residue-ed between the bookends
A sweetness vibrating and
Life measured tenfold
A virulent transmission
Slowly spurring our love anew

The poem today is about love. I liken my 34 years of marriage to my husband to the
thousands of sunrises and sunsets we’ve witnessed together and separately, and to
further enhance it, I’ll share the Bette Midler YouTube video from where the quote
comes.
The Rose is one of my all-time favorite love songs. I hope you enjoy the poem on my
‘Shiny moment’ and Bette’s immortalized in the words in this lovely song.

YouTube Video: https://youtu.be/ZFa324V1kgU

When the night has been too lonely
and the road has been too long
And you think that love is only
for the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter
far beneath the bitter snow
Lies the seed that with the sun’s love
In the spring becomes the rose

Bette Midler – The Rose (Live Divine Miss Millenium)
