The List: Wea’ve Written Weekly

W3 Prompt #124: Posted on September 11, 2024

I. The prompt poem:

‘idyllic daydreams’, an ekphrastic sonnet by Lynn Wielenga—Congratulations, dear Lynn. Well deserved 👏🏽

II. Lynn’s prompt guidelines

  • PROMPT: Compose a ‘list poem’, which includes the word ‘fall’ or some form of it (falling, fallen, fell, etc.).

List poem?

A list poem is a deliberately organized poem containing a list of images or adjectives that build up to describe the poem’s subject matter through an inventory of things.

How to write a list poem

To write a list poem, you may use lines, sentences, or even a list of single words. List poems don’t require a specific rhyme scheme or rhythm, but they can have them.

Selma I was taken back many years to a time when I was a cash poor newlywed trying to make Christmas gifts for lots of family. I had decided to make my own potpourri and had purchased some items and then gathered others and dried them – I had rosemary, lilac, lavender, thyme and mint all hanging to dry. My house smelled so good!! Your list transported me to that time. Thank-you!!

Happy you liked it my friend. I’m so behind in my reading. Been busy. I’ll find my way there. Happy new week my friend.

I did, and I know how easy it is to fall behind in the reading.

My smell is overpowered with so many different beautiful fragrances!
But I guess taken in paragraphs, it’s something I could enjoy 😉

    Lovely list!
