MY REVIEW OF THE LIGHT IN THE CAVE
The Light In The Cave by Tricia Sankey is 100% entertainment that I felt could have
gone on for a bit longer. What an intricate story where everything happens too fast.
And how could it not when one’s reading about vampires, quantum computers, and
aliens.
Still very new to the SciFi genre, I’m intrigued with how writers flesh out these lovely
stories that hold your attention and when have you begging for more.
In The Light In The Cave, Ms. Sankey regales us with a perfect blend of Science Fiction
and Mystery. And touches on metaphysical topics such as remote viewing and
synchronicity. And much cunning. I could see this story played out on the screen under
the direction of J.J Abrams. I can!
The story is told in the first person in the various POVs of the characters. But we enter
the story with Karisa Meyers, barely twenty-two, who I came to see as an innocent
character on whom supernatural power is bestowed without her knowledge. As far as
she’s concerned, she moved to be closer to her boyfriend, an Army Sergeant, and her
biggest worry is passing a test to work as a government contractor in a cave where the
nation’s immigration records are stored.
I was soon drawn to Karisa. She carries a malachite crystal sphere and a small garlic
clove in her pocket for good luck: just in case there are vampires in the cave. She has
good instincts. And the moment she feels her frequency off, she picks up her sphere.
This is a quick read. Perfect for any season but especially lovely for languorous days of
summer. Oh, yes, and there’s Paranormal Romance, too. Something for everyone, see?
I’m so happy I purchased it, and it’s one of my faves recommendations this summer. I
cannot wait to read more novels like this by Tricia Sankey. Kept me pleasantly
entertained. Thanks for writing this.
ABOUT THE STORY Karisa Meyers has just taken a position working in a cave as a government contractor in order to be closer to her boyfriend, Fox Greene, a Staff Sergeant in the Army. She’s a little worried she won’t be able to pass the tests and keep her job. Fortunately, Cole Brooks, her sexy trainer is there to help. However, soon she will uncover the secrets of the cave and need to battle a biobot vampire, a quantum computer, and her own growing feelings for Cole. The Light in the Cave blends the genres of Paranormal Romance, Science Fiction, and Mystery while touching on metaphysical topics such as frequency, remote viewing, synchronicity, the power of the mind, and the gift of free will. 33% alien 33% vampire 33% quantum computer and 100% entertainment is found within this action-packed story! This original novella was inspired from Tricia Sankey's short story, The Reset, which received an Honorable Mention in the prestigious L.Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Contest.

Awesome review, Selma! I’m glad you thought it would make a good movie, because it’s currently in a contest to win a screenplay adaptation. Won’t know till later in September about the finalists. Anyone who wants to read the first 10 pages at the Page Turner awards can here: https://pageturnerawards.com/screenplay-award-2022/the-light-in-the-cave I am thrilled you enjoyed my little novella! 🥰
Oh my. Really? A movie adaptation in the cards for this? This could happen, Tricia. I feel it.
I’ll help you. Let’s.
Let’s manifest for that movie deal to come true.
Let’s project
at the frequency of 432hz. to match Earth’s frequency.
Let’s synchronize.
I enjoyed your Novella.
Yay! 💃🏼 💃🏼
Because miracles are real. 👏
Yes, projecting at 432hz sounds like a plan! Thanks for the support, friend! 💞
Heading to bed now, but if it’s ok with you, tomorrow I’ll add that bit about the movie adaptation to the post. With that link. Let me know.
Good night xoxo
Yes, go for it! Sleep well, I’m just drinking my coffee! ☕
Great review, Selma! Thanks for sharing it.
It’s my pleasure. Trying to make time to read more… and review…
It’s a great book Selma and very readable.. I still need to do my review at some point when I get time. I’m still in process of the read! So excited for Trisha! 💖💖
Sometimes, I have found, we need to stop long enough to read. haha. I am trying, I tell you…
Thanks, Cindy. Stay cool.
You’re so welcome Selma and so true. time takes time and kudos to you for making it! 💖
A great review which does justice to the book, Selma! Well done Tricia 🤩
Thanks, Ingrid. And congrats to Experiments In Fiction too for all you did. Tremendously lovely cover: the face of the book 👏 Well done! XoXo
It sounds like an exciting book, and you’ve written an excellent review. I struggle to read books because, as much as I want to, my concentration skills leave a lot to be desired. I’m trying to read a book by Elif Shafak called ‘The Island of Missing Trees’. The problem, I find, is that I don’t read often enough, preferring to write, and then have to go back to the beginning each time. Most annoying. Sometimes, I find I can read better at the library, where there are fewer distractions. I guess it would help if I put my laptop down for a while, but I’m still behind with the blogging world, and I feel I must deal with that first. Perhaps I should sometimes put my own needs first, which is not something I’ve ever done, really. Still, I’m not too ‘old’ to make changes, so there’s hope for me yet 😉. Lots of love to you, my dear friend xxx 💕🌞💞
