For The Tanka Tuesday Prompt, where we have so much fun discovering
so much about syllabic poetry and about ourselves.
As I got ready to write this post, I devoted some time to emojisize something
about myself. Nowhere else do I go to such lengths. Here’s what I got:
Cloaked 🦹♀️ and with 🤞🏽she goes through life believing in🪄like a 🦄—who is she?
To ♏️horoscope,
🐢spirit-animal,
💗INFJ,
🧑🏽🦳Old Soul,
(🦬)🦉yet🙈,
(🤦🏽♀️)🤪 yet an 🤩,
today we add Reed as her🌳sign: Selma
So there you have it! That’s the kind of clean fun I had with the prompt–it relaxed me.
Thanks, Colleen.
The Prompt:
🌳 This week’s challenge is to find out what type of tree you are based on
Celtic Tree Astrology! Find your tree sign HERE. 🌳
🌳 Then, write a syllabic poem that incorporates your tree into the syllabic
poem.
🌳 Remember, if you write a freestyle poem, please add a syllabic poem to
go with it.
HAVE FUN!
REED – THE INQUISITOR: OCTOBER 28 – NOVEMBER 24
Reeds among the Celtic tree astrology signs are the secret keepers. You dig deep
inside to the real meaning of things and discover the truth hidden beneath layers of
distraction. When there is a need to get to the heart of the matter, the Reed sign will
most certainly find the core. You love a good story and can be easily drawn in by
gossip, scandals, legend, and lore. These tendencies also make you an excellent
historian, journalist, detective, or archaeologist. You love people because they
represent a diversity of meanings for you to interpret. Reed signs join well with
Ash or Oak signs.
ASH – THE ENCHANTER: FEBRUARY 18 – MARCH 17
OAK – THE STABILIZER: JUNE 10 – JULY 7
Superlative Is The Inquisitor
The
Reed sign
is more like
a memory
keeper, peeling coats
to unearth the others’
best. She loves people and their
diverse livelihoods– adorns them;
the best interpretations bequests.
Superlative is the inquisitor.
Thanks so much for reading, and do join in to participate in the fun.
Happy Fourth of July to all my American blogger friends. I bless you.

Creatively done
One tries… xoxo And thanks for the recent Follow. 💗
I like your work. It’s worth the “follow”
This emojisized version was so fun to read! And as always a great poem🌻
Hehe. I enjoyed doing that one. Thanks for reading. Xoxo
Oh my gosh, I love this so much, Selma. I could see your personality come alive through the reed. What fun! Your emoji introduction was so cute. I’m glad you enjoyed this inspiration! Happy Tanka Tuesday! 🥳💚
Yay! Happy Tanka Tuesday, dear Colleen. Xoxo
Well done! Your poem gives the sense of the “reed” peeling back the layers to get to the heart of it. It made me think of stripping wallpaper only to find another layer and wondering about all the stories of the hands that papered the wall.
Heather, I so like what you saw. Peeling layers:
Entombed under the charade
Buried nether the ugly things said and done
Layered below all that bravado
There exists a purity born of stardust– the heart!
You said it so well. Thanks, dear friend. xoxo
My pleasure.
well done Selma💞💞
Aww. And I thought of you and Goff as I was Emojisizing hehe. Thanks, dear lady. Is it Wednesday there already? It is, you know–the day after the Fourth of July Celebrations. Be well, lady. I bless you.
Oh those were fun posts with everyone that Goff and I did! Happy Wednesday!💕🎉
I too am a reed according to this table. Love your fun response.
Blessed again with you by my side. Thanks, always, Sadje. xoxo
Thanks dear friend
I’m a Hazel always searching for the magic and wonder hidden within numbers, science, and the natural world. I do like rules, but will bend them as far as I can without losing a limb – literally and figuratively.
Love the creativity of your interpretation and the poem. So you. xoxo

I love this post Selma…please go over my post about your new book.
I did. Thanks a million. Xoxo
Kathryn, a Hazel: the smart one! How I love having you around. For your rule breaking and knowledge of how things work. Kathryn. my sweet, I bless you. Wish we had met when we were running around and climbing trees. Imagine the fun we would have had. Haha. We are still having fun and I love knowing Texas nestles you safely. Still be safe: no rule breaking with safety. Hope you had a glorious Fourth Celebration. xoxo
Responded July 5th. But I doubt you received it. Here goes again my sweet

How are you?
Your poems are always beautiful. I am an Elder.
Diana, you are sweet for saying that. So your sign is the thrill seeker, freedom lover, and very honest. I love your sign. So happy you’re in my life and that our paths continue to cross here in the blog-sphere. I love your words a lot too. same-same. Be well, dear one. I bless you. and hope your celebrations yesterday were memorable. May freedom ring loud and clear for all. xoxo
Great poem, Selma! I’m hoping to get back to writing again this week. This one seems fun!

Thanks, Yve. Welcome back. I bet it was stupendous, recharging your batteries.
This prompt is fun. You must try it and see. I want to read it. Blessings, my friend. xoxo
I enjoyed this post a lot, Selma. Thanks for the link to the Celtic trees. I am actually a Vine, not a tree, it says. But it suits me.
LuAnne, I just checked the Vine sign. Your sign has the ability to empathize equally with both sides. The equalizer–I like that. And you pair well with my bestie, a Hazel, the photographer of my upcoming book cover. How gorgeous! I love it even more. Yay. I like it that we are all happy with our signs.
Thanks for reading dear friend. Happy Fourth of July to you. May the bells of freedom unite us all. xoxo

Selma,
I love this. What fun! I’m an INFJ, too! But a holly, and I still have to work on my poem!
Your emoji’s are so interesting and your poem is beautifully done Selma! Reeds are known for their flexibility too. 😊
Wonderful poem, Selma! Love getting to know you better through all the prompts and emojis 🙂
Selma, what wonderful synthesis in your poem. I enjoyed the emoji biography as well 🙂
Lovely, Selma. My older daughter’s celtic tree is also the Reed. It’s great to know yours is, too. 🙂
Lovely. Loveleeeee, I say! XoXo
Lovely poem, Selma, and fun emojis. 🤗
So happy you liked it, Gwen. Blessings.
🙃 I got a little carried away. Thanks Gwen
We are the same dear, Selma. That must be why I am so drawn to your lovely poetry.
How blessed to be part of the lovely roots that nourish your soul, dear Brenda. I love it— let’s sway to the wind song and continue blessing the land that brought us here. I too am drawn to your words. Thanks so dearly. I bless you. Xoxo
I am a reed! Lovely poem, I enjoyed. 🙂
A Reed too?! Wonderful! I’m sure reeds can be found in every continent—well, perhaps except Antarctica—as for me, I’m thriving in Asia. 👏🏽 in what continent are you, dear Marje? Wherever you BE, I bless you. Xoxo. Thanks for reading and commenting, my fellow Reed. 👏🏽
Wonderful poem Selma, reeds are quite magical, you can hear them whispering 💞
HI Selma, this is a lovely poetic response to the prompt. I am an Ash.
