Pink is The Word of The Day #TankaTuesday

My first Haiga ever and it’s for Colleen’s Wordcraft: Prose and Poetry challenge.
This form, which up until this moment I hadn’t had a chance to attempt, came
inspired by Chapter 4, page 51 of the book, Word Craft Prose & Poetry, The Art of Crafting Syllabic Poetry by Colleen Chesebro. Thanks so much.

This observational poetry usually combines three art forms: imagery, poetry, and calligraphy contained inside an image. And so for this one, I went to Canva to create
a collage of photos I took in my garden this morning.

Again, creating something like this on Canva is new to me.
Had I had the option I’d have chosen a cursive fond.
The pictures I took are indeed more centered, but I didn’t know how to adjust it on the canvas to show that.

Pink was Gaia’s message to me, and Pink is what I hope to convey to you as well. I hope you focus on the pinktastic way mention of this color makes you feel. (I know you feel
something *smile* so please adjust your pink today).

And
if only for today,
please look on the Pink side of life.

lovely and wonderful as well as adventurous are the delights we find in nature, in a garden –
even from the “expected” of knowing and understanding things – like the plantings we’ve carefully managed – and yet, always surprises, because so much falls well out of our hands/control ….

I’m looking at the images from your garden and marveling at the bug in its exploration, and what really captures my eye is the eaten lace effect of whatever came to feast, (bottom right image) – and how this (un/fortunate depending on point-of-view/perspective) has added yet another dimension to the small nest of plants/vines – fortuitous is the eye behind the camera – even more so is the lighting in that moment, and what the “lens really sees” …. all in all, a lovely way for me to sit and just meditate – thanks for sharing 🙂

      Hey, Wild Child 💕
The small bug on the flower and the lace leaf that surely caught my camera’s attention are indeed what this is all about. And I rejoice that you zoomed in on those points. Though an ocean away, we are connected — you and I. Something I always knew. I appreciate your visit. Sooo much. Thanks for the comment. I can tell you’re in a grounded place. Lovely foresight. Again, thank you. Be well, Wise Child (from Monica Furlong’s novels 😉) I wish you Miracles.

Greets and Joy Selma on this fine day – weather wise, here – beautiful Fall day it is 🙂

I appreciate your reply – it’s heart warming, so thank you. As for the details? Well, it’s all in the details, the small slices, as I call them – the simple things observed, or accidentally discovered. They may not be filled with all the hype and hoopla of “big splashes” – but in their own way, they do ground us, serve as reminders of what truly sustains us. At least, that’s what I believe. And a garden/nature is the most excellent place to discover this – it proves that the miraculous exists – often without our hands-on interference. As for being “grounded” – 😂😂 – only sometimes. I’m a tempest in a teacup – but nature keeps me just wild enough to stop and recall that for all the chaos and my illusionary sense of control and planning, there are many more mysteries in life that should remain just that – mysteries. Healthy curiosity and wonder should be a generous serving on my plate, combined with an even bigger side of “release/letting go” – this would keep me better in check! 😂

Hope you have a wonderful day and rest of the week – Bright Blessings to you.

Hey, Wise Child why does it say that red brick balloons is no longer available? Lead me to your website please. Thanks. Have a great day/evening.

Actually, it doesn’t exist anymore and I have absolutely NO idea why WP keeps insisting it does and why it still shows up with my Gravatar. It doesn’t for me, but clearly, it still does for others. (Your not the first person to make mention of it.) It’s got to be something on the techie end.
I’ve been blogging for a long time, under many names and had many different blogs, but when I’m “done” – I close shop and delete everything., removing all traces of it. So why this still hasn’t cleared? No clue. But thanks for asking about it.
        At the moment, I have:

(NOTE: it’s done. SMILING AT YOU *– iwym)

I went to both sites. The first one was responsive. I could read (again), viewed in the Reader and followed. All good.
The second one: I could read, comment, like. But could not find this in the reader.
This happened to me before. It was frustrating for a very long time.
In my gravatar page I wrote: I’ve moved. please find me here. And linked to the new site.
To file a complaint and get the happy engineers to help, and so that you see what I see, give yourself a LIKE. Go ahead, like your own post. Then take it from there, tell the engineers — or better yet, take screenshot. They’ll fix you up. It’s probably because redbrickballoons is your username or something.
I say all this without knowing the whole story. But I sure hope it helps. More people should be reading your words and engaging with you.
          Hope this helps. 😘

hmmm – thanks for the input, and that is definitely interesting, frustrating, to be sure, but interesting …. I’ll make a mental note to try and see what happens etc. according to your suggestions … (it’s just after 1 a.m. here and I’m writing poetry because it demands its voice, but I’m dead tired) …. as for “volume” of readers etc.? It’s always nice to have a ‘fan base’ – but I’ve been there in past incarnations, and if anything, now, this is just to keep me a bit closer to ‘normal’ on the ‘going insane’ scale, i.e. it’s mostly for my own challenge, amusement, time consumption, interest – but thank you so much for all your help and interest and encouragement – it’s always cool to make new friends with whom one ‘clicks’ – nothing like having a ‘personal pep coach’ 😁

          2. WildChild47

I’ve accidentally discovered one of the weird gremlins and managed to fix it – so that should end the misdirect – don’t know why it kept over-riding – and could you do me a fave? edit out my comment for the actual links, please, especially the 2nd one (the main one can stay) or just scrap the entire comment – whatever is easiest, please and thank you Sista!

              1. WildChild47

                thanks ever so much 💖 you’re a peach 🙂

      2. WildChild47

I’ve replied to this comment Selma – but check your Spam box – it might be hidden in there because it contains “2 links” …. just saying.

Got it. I’ll check you out in the morning. Be well, friend. Good night.

            1. Selma Martin

We had tremors here last night after we talked. Sleep came in small bouts. But the birds are singing, the sun is out, petrichor perfumes the air from the rain early this morning: all is still. Life is good. Thanks for the comment. Be well.

              1. WildChild47

oooh …. that’s scary – never pleasant, but glad to know that all’s well and it’s turning out to be a wonderful day for you …. travel safely (literally and metaphorically) in joy, peace, awe and wonder 🙂

  2. JoAnna

I especially like how you captured the light through the translucent petals and the natural diversity in the photo below.

    1. Selma Martin

Hey, JoAnne. Thanks. The angle of the sun yesterday was perfect. In some cases, the picture doesn’t do the subject justice but this time The end result was nice indeed.
Thanks for dropping me a comment. I appreciate the encouragement. Thanks.

    2. Selma Martin

Hey JoAnna, I just realized you’re the one with the Good News post. Thank you. So happy you made yourself known to me this way. I’m already following you. Keep going. I’m reading. xoxo

This is beautiful. I love you made the image into a collage of pink flowers to accompany your poem.

    1. Selma Martin

Aww, D.L. Thanks for reading and liking my collage. The light at that time of day added to the beauty of the flower.
      I appreciate the visit. 👏
