the wicked gang is
planning a reunion
to ravage a good
night disparaging
besmirch with lies
in torrents of fire
till enraged they
pester every angle
I received no
invitation; though
the news reached me
through the wire
I would not be party
to that drama
I'm quite content
without such a choir
to hear them fawn
on hot embers
see them gang up
in accusations
feel them strangle
the night with wiles
of course they would
not invite me
I'd bring no fun into
their hell's mire

My baby, my debut poetry collection, In The Shadow of Rainbows, is about to turn One.
What is a new author supposed to do if not shamelessly promote her book? Well, here I am, shamelessly promoting…
Let me know if you haven’t read it yet and we will fix that.

A year already? I can’t believe it! 🌈 📖 ❤️
Right? Pinch 🤏 me!
How time flies… Thank you, Ingrid 🤗
Wonderful poem. Selma. She is wise to stay away (even if she had been invited, methinks she would have declined). Some parties are not about joy at all, are they?
Wise to stay away from such people and create her own JOY instead. Jomo 👏🏽
Thanks for reading Dale. I appreciate you
Absolutely!
You are lovely, Selma.
Who needs friends like that, I would much prefer reading. Love the Jomo, might use that in future.
My husband and I are anti-social anyways. I much prefer to stay home.
