It gives me great pleasure to share my review of Joni Karen Caggiano’s poetry
book, One Petal At A Time with you, dear readers, and even more pleasure to
have it published at Masticadores USA.
A warm thank you to Editor Barbara Harris Leonhard for giving my poem a
splendid nesting place in her magazine on the World Wide Web and exposure
to my words. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

Dearest Selma, your review was such a heartfelt write, and the line across the top touched me so profoundly. It was hard to write about all these things that happened to me and often on days I wrote I also cried. It was difficult to think of those times as an older adult because while you are in the mist of what is happening you are too busy just trying to survive. As a teenager I stayed so busy working and studying while in high school and college that coming home and seeing a police car parked at the house brought unpanicked and steady questions for the police. When you get older you start to think about the things that happened and I wonder how how on earth did I survive? Then I think of my constant conversations with God. I know that it was God that got me through my childhood and young adulthood. Selma, I thank you for this beautiful review and most importantly your kind words offered to me as a child. I appreciate the sweet heart you have and I am grateful to know you and to call both you and Barbara friend. Love you, Joni 🙏
Joni, you’re too kind. Hugs my friend. All the best in all your endeavors. Here’s looking at you.
