🍂 🍂
The mossy mounds and arbor in these woods
That nature’s rocks toil hard never to spoil
Are man’s wealth; except the indolent fool’s
Who hide their wreathed relics in the soil.
But moss will spread and scatter over grass
And trellis vines, bluebells and larger blooms
Though crime-loving ingrate-fools with no class,
No forbearance, come to derange her rooms
With stolen sorrows useless to her hands.
Like fine sand that through an hourglass slow drips
After vapors have oppressed her rich lands
She upsoars and sheaths all with velvet strips.
Often she sputters and responds with tears
But regains her stance despite ingrate heirs.

Mother nature heals 🩷
Ingrates though we may be. Yes, she heals. Let’s not overload her forests with junk we don’t need. Thanks Diana. Bless you. I hope all’s well with you. Xo
It is thank you
A very moving response
Happy you were moved dear Sadje. Thanks for reading and commenting and supporting. Bless you always.

We should leave Mother Nature to be as she is.
No wonder she is angry.
Thank you for this lovely poem Selma xo
No wonder, right. Thanks Maggie
Indeed Selma !
My pleasure always.
Riveting poetry, Selma. Mother Nature is forgiving but we do test her limits.
All the time. Pushing and pushing. Thanks Dora dear

Fantastic poem, Selma. The final couplet is really powerful.
Happy you liked it, dear Nicole. The reality check portion☝🏽that’s supposed to-like you told me previously-“In Shakespearean literature, no one could enter a forest and leave it without having been changed in some way.”
Hope this does it… bless you.
Yes! I definitely see that!
A fine poem. We should take more care of our beloved mother.
Oh yes. This we must do. Thanks so much for reading Heather. 🤗

Dawn? Thanks so much for reading. Your poem was stellar as is. Loved it. Thanks.
The closing couplet brings a poignant resolution, emphasizing nature’s enduring strength despite the disruption caused by careless hands. The poem’s classical tone and structure add to its depth and timeless appeal.
Thank you kindly. Thanks for the lovely prompt. Was fun to write for it. Gifted myself a sonnet. Xo
