Elegant sylph up high
Grand receptacle;
Espouser of light, ardor, and purity
Salacious savvy star
Golden deity
Source of serene delight
Gracing earth tonight
With your internal glow you complement us
Sweet direct convergence
September full moon
Clouds that hide you from me
Find me lusterless
Yet O-gape I be, your face I know by heart
And so I float to you
Raze the clouds away

Every third Monday of the month, Colleen’s at the Saddle-up Saloon with a monthly challenge to help get our poetic juices flowing.
This poem was written with that challenge in mind. I started it out after reading what I thought was the prompt. It popped into my feed, you see. Now that I’ve seen this month’s prompt I’m O-ghast as my poem is not….
Any way, I will not waste a perfectly good poem about the moon. I hope Colleen and the good folks at the ranch forgive my goof.
Or that my readers like it. We’re all lunatics here.
Saddle-up Saloon; Colleen’s Double Ennead Challenge No. 8 Carrot Ranch Literary Community.
Colleen said: What’s a double ennead? The Double Ennead comprises five lines with a syllable count of 6/5/11/6/5, (33 SYLLABLES per stanza) 3 STANZAS EACH = 99 SYLLABLES, NO MORE, NO LESS!
Punctuation and rhyme schemes are optional and up to the poet.

Beautifully penned Selma 💕👌
Hi Selma,
I like the creativity of your poem. However, I haven’t understood it clearly. Need explanation.
😢 I appreciate the candor but if I need to explain I’ve failed majestically. 😭
Here goes, my lovely friend:
I venerate the lovely apparition in the sky. It is everything I’ve waited for. Don’t want to miss this one.
But, nature is capricious: she has her ways. Tonight of all nights she send me cloudy skies. Argh. Yet, I do not despair: I have memorized that star’s face (the moon) and so I levitate from my porch, shoo the clouds out of my way and gaze at the pregnant moon. It’s magical!
Hope this helps. All the best, Lokesh.
Sending you blessings. I wish you miracles.
I believe in miracles.
And I do have friends in the sky.

Well, I think your poem is fabulous. It’s about the September full moon, so I would say you’ve done well with the Autumn theme. Bravo, Selma. I’m so sorry it took it me this long to visit. It’s been one of those months. Hugs to you, my friend. <3
Don’t worry, dear Colleen. I totally understand.
