the deserts and seas I would invert
to give you warmth and solid support
though in your living I hold no part

your wolf heart’s waning–gives me a start
you dread the drift and curse the burnout

I wrote this one for someone I know who’s lost and intent on hurting others out of
spitefulness. That person might never see these words, but I hope the sentiment
arrives in that port before they reach the point of no return.
