For the Love of Flowers #poetry

When dew has dried
and sun's just right
potpourri toss
it's time to start

roses, rosebuds
lavender, mint
pansies, violets
vanilla beans

larkspur, verbena
geranium, cones
berries and peels
cardamom, cloves

juniper berries
star anise
essential oils
cinnamon sticks

rosemary
calendula
angelica
thyme 

petals and leaves
myrtle and hazel
ready, set, toss
nasal appraisal

Ideally, says the familyfrugalfun website, the lifespan of homemade potpourri, along with its scent, is between 2 and 4 months, to more than several years. Properly made and well-preserved potpourri can last decades.
