Fandango’s Flashback Friday– May 21st
I’ve been calling myself a blogger since February of 2017, typing away to my own drumbeat, really. Back then, I hit the publish button on all my posts from my phone. Gosh, those were the days. The big problem, though, was that no one was reading my heartfelt words. That year ended with a whopping twenty published posts. I was happy to bear my soul out there (to no one). *sigh*
In 2018 the blog count rose to twenty-five, and sadly still hardly any person read me. I kept hearing that consistency and quantity were vital, so then for 2019, I doubled that count.
I was proud of myself for what was becoming e-journaling, and this time I got a dozen lovely souls reading my words and commenting sometimes. But at the end of 2019, I suffered an unforeseen loss when my website crashed, and, with the holidays upon us, I failed to act promptly.
I lost all the posts for 2019 — unretrievable! I failed to back things up; that is why. I cried me an ocean on the dead posts– let them go, got tech help, and even learned a few techy words that were missing from my vocabulary.
2020 was good to me. It afforded me the privilege of publishing 4-5 articles a week. That’s like sixty blog posts. Yay! But still, only a couple dozen followers to my name.
It’s only after the April National Poetry Writing Month that other bloggers started saying hi to me. I cried and have been crying ever since. Thank you so much. I’m happy you can finally see me. And last week– get this– I reached a milestone.
100 followers! Yay!
I value this milestone more than you know– I’m over the moon happy. It feels good– especially the interaction I now have with people from all over the world.
But now that I’m here, I wish to share more old posts that you haven’t seen. Won’t you be my guests?
Lucky for me, a well-established blogger I recently met has a fantastic opportunity for doing just that — Flashback Fridays.
So, here is my first (old) blog post, written on another platform in 2019 and on my crashed website as well. The only thing that saved this particular post is that it was written on that other platform. So, I fished it out of there and exposed it on this website exactly a year ago, on May 21st, like today.
How many people read it in 2020, do you think? ZERO. I could not believe my bad luck.
I will post the link here (it’s still this website) and hope you find something to like about my ordinary existence that you wouldn’t otherwise. And more importantly, that my experience adds value to your life.
How Close are We To Achieving World Peace?
I will also link you back to the website of the blogger who planted this seed in my mind and who’s teaching me how to navigate this blogging world where I continue to feel so lost.
