Eager & Hope #SynonymsOnly week #TankaTuesday

Eager & Hope are the words selected by SALLY CRONIN this #SynonymsOnly week. Thank you, dearly.

I wanted to give the Diatelle a try this week, but I’m finding it nearly impossible to maneuver syllabic poetry that requires a rhyme pattern. Sheesh!

It kinda reminds me of the times I tried aerobics for beginners, and all my motor skills abandoned me. Smh!

I marvel at what I see the poets doing at Word Craft ~ Prose & Poetry; it makes me wonder if I’ll ever catch up. But, I’ll turn to the piece of affirmation I quoted— attempt a shift, and believe that I’ll write a decent diatelle one day. I want to, so I’ll keep reading.

I’ll keep practicing these syllabic forms.

For the second Tuesday Tanka Challenge #216, these single-stanza poems for #SynonymsOnly with Colleen M. Chesebro were fun to write. Thanks so much.

TANKA

5-7-5-7-7

determined I start
reassess, stay undeterred
watch day turn to dusk
at the dimming of the lights
satisfaction to the end

***

ABHANGA

6-6-6-4

all follies leave behind
relinquish what serves not
retain one open slot
it’s yours– claim it

***

SHADORMA

3-5-3-3-7-5

prophesy
to each comes his own
luminous
foreshadows
tomorrow is not promised
give your all today

***

BADGER HEXASTICH

2-4-6-6-4-2

today
live it as if
love waits at the corner
and you, in your best hair
have been yearning–
waiting

A lovely collection. Thanks for stopping by my post on the Tanka Tuesday prompt.
May we all recognize just some of the miracles that enter into our lives everyday.
Right now I see a pare of Canada geese at the creeks edge. With spring rounding the corner I’m looking forward to seeing goslings grow 🙂
