If ev’ry word burnt had power to sway
And ev’ry word said, the power to rile
How much of the world would learn ev’ry word?
Who’d stay to listen to words that were said?
For words writ down are just ink on paper
And ev’ry word uttered, wind pollutants
But for the words that touch somebody’s heart;
No flame in hell skews the strength of such words

Well-written poem with a powerful message, Selma! <3 I remember both compliments and rebukes from over 60 years ago as if they were spoken or read today. I cringe sometimes at having said a few things over my lifetime that I now regret.
They live forever, Cheryl. For sure they do! Thanks for reading. Blessings.

Words have value when they entrap, yet words of love are stronger when they free us all.
