Hello, my lovelies. Happy day to all. Today I have a new book review for you.
Here’s what Amazon tells me:
Nolcha and Barbara decided to collaborate after Nolcha’s submission
attachments to Barbara were mysteriously eaten by computer gremlins.
Those gremlins were the topic of their first collaboration. It’s been so
much fun to work together, it shouldn’t be legal.

MY REVIEW ON AMAZON and GOODREADS
(give it a week to show on Amazon.com please)
A love letter written with the youthful exuberance
of a life lived with
such a grateful heart.
Too Much Fun To Be Legal, Poetry Collaboration by Nolcha Fox and Barbara
Leonhard is a love letter to a life well-lived, a testament written with the youthful
exuberance of a life lived with such a grateful heart.
I appreciate the wisdom within the pages delivered in an easy-going way and how
it made me feel—as if I was physically in the authors’ company, sharing the laughs.
This book spoke to my spirit and boosted my enthusiasm for life and having read it
several times since purchasing it makes me smile knowing such a quick-witted book
is available to anyone. It’s honest, creative, and insightful. Brilliantly crafted. I found
the collaboration of the two authors a good combination of creative genius.
It’s a lovely letter to those still in the summer phase of life to give them a heads up
on how fun it is to arrive at the fall season of one’s life. Which is where I am. But it’s
also a book for any phase. The poking fun at this phase is such a beautiful way of
showing gratitude. And that this duo parodied their experiences (real or imagined)
to gift us laughs in their wordplay is brilliant.
Choose any poem–they’re all winners. It’s hard to present you with just one, but I’ll
provide a few short excerpts to showcase the writers’ geniuses:
N: I’m late no matter what I do./ I think it’s all the primping./ Better to be late, I say,/
and show my blooms in style,/ than slip through the back door/right on time/and no
one see my petals.//
B: How can a love story begin/if I’m such a mess/from sunset to sunset?/Each spring
my new wardrobe/is splattered by sherbet/at every day’s end.//
N: I cannot see,/I walk as someone blind./The future is uncertain,/and I’ve left the
past behind.//
B: My past, a certain darkness./What comes, in shadows too./I pray for light to guide
me,/my cane, my only tool.//
N: I am a coward./The only good bend/is the bend in/my elbow./At least that is one
I can see.//
N: I was born a fiction,/a death, a hardship,/a drowning, cholera,/thunder, hail, rain./
No wonder I catastrophize.//
B: I’m a dream, as well./Each day, two suns wake me./A warm hearth and hot coals./I
survive with an umbrella/and ibuprofen. At times,/life support.//
I invite you to take this book in hand and find a quiet moment to “bask in hush”–I’m
sure you’ll find your favorite lines to make you smile.
Barbara’s words are in italics; Nolcha’s is “what’s left.”
I’m very satisfied with my purchase and highly recommend this poetry collaboration
by two Authors I already admire.
Thanks so much for reading and I hope this review has piqued your interest in this
