Book Review: Celebrating Poetry by Cindy Georgakas

Celebrating Poetry was published on November 16th
I purchased from my area’s warehouse on November 21st

Reviewed on Amazon and Goodreads on December 6th—because that’s how I roll.

Here’s my Review:

Each poem resonated deeply, and I felt understood

I Just finished my second reading of “Celebrating Poetry” by Cindy Georgakas—loved it doubly 🙃 and want to recommend it to you. A delicious book. Each poem resonated deeply, and I felt understood.

The book is a companion for Georgakas’ debut book, Re-Create & Celebrate. What a fantastic concept because I love that first book to pieces and so I know you will love this author’s words too.

In 183 pages Author Cindy Georgakas takes your hand in hers and guides you to a blissful place you already know but in your busyness…

“the haste and busyness, I have lost touch with my internal barometer. I pause to take
a drink and stand still in mid-flight.”

And in that blissful place, she reminds you to

“Enjoy the music of silence where stillness resides.”

…also, in her soothing voice reminds you to

“Trust the process!”

“There is something undeniable when God enters the room, and your spirits ignite and you realize we are made out of the same cloth; always united. The unspeakable universal wisdom when you see you and your loved one’s soul spirit; holding court as angels, forever more.”

My favorite poem in the collection is one of the shortest. Step 2: From Darkness To Light section.  It reads like a prayer and it literally made me listen“Listen with all your senses.” And also, “Soften your hard shell” Here it is:

“Just Breathe

I breathe lightness into darkness,/

love into hatred,/

hope into despair,/

resilience into apathy,/

strength into travesty,/

mindfulness into mindlessness.”//

Because…

“The sun is just behind the dark cloud, technology is always improving, and prayer never fails.” (Prayer Never Fails—my aha moment!)

And when we arrived at Step 4, the Celebrate Section, I felt these words profusely:

“that we made this world a better place by sharing this time, this moment, and eternity for beings everywhere in the best way we knew possible.”

I’m delighted to have purchased this book which will get numerous readings from me.  Thanks for the loveliness. I highly recommend “Celebrating Poetry” by Cindy Georgakas.

I have no control over when and if my reviews appear on the dot com website, (from where the majority of the books I read originate) but this one already shows in the co dot jp website (where I purchase and review). Check it out, my lovelies:

Oh Selma, I have no words for this lovely review that could adequately express my appreciation! I’m so honored by your words and taking such tine time to exquisitely share my book of poems and the ones that touched you! Thank you so very much for taking the time to review my book and share it with your followers! It comes at a time when your words touch me dealing with life’s frailties and I’m a little numb as I’m running from parent to parent. I’m sure the floodgates will be opening soon. Life is an unpredictable adventure as we slide into home. Hugs and so much love! Thank you so very much!!
