Biolet: W3 #117 on Love and Hate–Quinella

Hello friends. This week’s W3 Prompt #117 hosted by our beloved Sadje, is where the
party’s at. Please take a look:

Details:

I. The prompt poem:

‘What amuses me?’, a poem by Sadje

II. Sadje’s prompt guidelines

• Form: Biolet
• Theme: Love/Hate

Biolet?

The Biolet is a six-line poem; the first two lines are repeated as the last two lines,
however in reverse.

The rhyme scheme can be expressed as ABbaBA
(with the capital letters representing the repeated lines).

The length of the lines can be in iambic tetrameter (8 syllables),
iambic pentameter (10 syllables),
iambic hexameter (12 syllables),
or in unmetered lines of random lengths.

quinella

love you give away, tenfold will multiply
hate you manifest, all joys will nullify
your day will flyby, ever preoccupied
never a contented day will you descry
hate you manifest, all joys will nullify
love you give away, tenfold will multiply

you will seldom reap a day of pure leisure
lamentations will linger and stifle growth
lest you open up and make a solemn oath
to bow to hope and love in equal measures
lamentations will linger and stifle growth
you will seldom reap a day of pure leisure

love you give away, tenfold will multiply
the hate you manifest, all joys will dissolve
of everything in life, most precious is love
everything besides, your heart will mummify
the hate you manifest, all joys will dissolve
love you give away, tenfold will multiply
