Points of interest in the article shared:

  • Beautiful photographs
  • Native to East Asia
  • Queen of clear waters. They survive only in extremely clean water
  • Moss eating fish
  • Fragrant fish—think cucumbers, melons, watermelons
  • Highly prized. Iconic summer fish

    Happy 4th of July Selma!
Thank you for the introduction to the Ayu fish!. I had not heard of them before.

Kudos for beautifully crafted haiku! You packed great imagery on different levels and coinage!

Oh this sounds like a fish I would! (I love fish). The heat is slipping back into Michigan! 💜

    1. Selma Martin

I love fish too. And my fisherman husband helps and educates me about fish. Hehe 😋
Please stay cool. A big hat please and look for the shade. Stay safe. Happy long weekend. 🤗

Thanks, Selma. I tend to stay inside in the summer. I have some health issues with the sun, so it’s long sleeves and a hat everywhere I go. LOL! 👒

    Interesting Haiku,Selma!

  6. Now I’m hungry and ayu sounds amazing! We are big fish eaters in our house; my husband is a fisherman by hobby and our freezer is always full. Yum, Selma! 😋

Another thing we have in common then. Husband is a fishing enthusiast 🎣 —sometimes he returns with a bounty and sometimes repining … 😔
You’d have to come to this area to taste ayu though. Or perhaps they freeze and ship abroad. 🤷🏽‍♀️ —with a long plane flight ✈️ necessary I wouldn’t recommend you come. Hugs my friend. Enjoy your long weekend. Safety first!
