An Exclusive Interview With a Bestselling Queen of Books

Hello, dear reader-friends.

As we brave through the dog days of summer, the presses continue to churn out
book after book with words compiled by diligent Authors who have put in the
work for our enjoyment. Today, I wish to showcase for you one such Author
who many on WordPress know as Créme de la Créme. She really needs no
introduction here as she’s a favorite among us.

Still, I managed to obtain an exclusive interview with the bestselling queen and
wish to share my findings with you. Today you will learn a little about what excites
our Mich through these four questions I posed to her…

So, thank you dearly for wanting to share more of my book and share more of me.

#1. Tell me something EXCLUSIVE about yourself/your life that readers wouldn’t
know otherwise.

I wanted to become a movie star, a model, and a beauty queen (imagine that) when
I was young. (Apart from being a writer) I don’t think I’ve talked about it ever on my
blog or social media. So I’m talking exclusively with you now. I remember forging my
parents’ signature just to get a modeling deal (please don’t follow what I did🤭)
because I was under age and my parents strictly told me not to enter showbiz or
modeling. When my father saw the billboard, he was so furious he demanded it to be
taken down; otherwise, he will sue the company (me being underage). Then my attempts
at stardom didn’t end there 🤭 I joined in a beauty pageant which I won, and my
parents gave their blessings after nights and days of begging🤭🤭. After
winning, the organizer told me they’d send me in to a bigger pageant the following as
I might grow a little bit taller by then. Unfortunately, I didn’t. But it didn’t stop me
from taking on small side hustle shoots for, let’s say, notebook covers. And eventually,
I just get tired of doing it.

#2. Tell me about LOCKER and what inspired you to write flash fiction as your
next bestseller.

My creative consultant and editor encouraged me to venture into fiction writing.
I was very apprehensive at first, but the moment I started working on the concept
of the book, I was unstoppable. The writing process took me just a month. It was
the editing and the book cover concept that took a little while to finish.

#3. Who is your target audience? And If you were to leave a ‘message in
a bottle’ for that audience, what would you say?

Technically, the book is not for younger audiences as it tackles issues that are of
mature concerns such as abuse, violence, and miscarriage.
If I am to leave a “message in a bottle,” it would be “Embrace your own imagination,
for it is our imagination that will allow us to see and experience the world and life
beyond our reality.”

Aside: Readers, In my review, I concur the story is for a young audience. I believe
young people should be exposed to this kind of learning with no sugar-coating!
[But you will need to wait for my review to see how I came to this conclusion].

#4. I saw the three parts of flash “fiction” shared a commonality that gets
mentioned throughout. That was so sad. But I loved the resolution that put
me in a good place for the narrator. Tell me something about that: is it safe
to think that the ending is NOT fiction?

I admire your observation, Selma. So I must say, my concept worked so well. I wrote
each story as a stand-alone story, but if you finished reading it, you will realize that
it is, in fact, one complete novel taken into bits and pieces of flash-fiction stories. As
for the ending, I wanted to end it on a happy note – something that my readers would
be grateful about. And whether it’s a product of my imagination or not. Well, I say I am
in the same state of life as the narrator in the last story. So the sentiments are true.

MICHELLE OPENS UP TO ANOTHER EXCLUSIVE

“Love Happens”

The novel coming soon worldwide!!!!!

“The music stopped, and all heads turned to face the far end of the walk.
The opening to the bridal chorus started to play. Down the aisle I came.
I could not believe this was happening. I wore a strapless wedding gown
with embroidery on my bodice. Rhinestones and pearl beads were sewn
on my gown. I also wore a two-tier veil with a matching crystal headpiece.
I held a French rose silk bouquet. Dad must be watching and smiling somewhere.
You were waiting, stunning. You wore a black, single-breasted, satin tuxedo
with a white-wing collar shirt.”

Selma, bless you for your kind words. I am okay but much else going on – on the bright side my son’s graduation a couple of weeks ago! 😀

Oh no, I feel for you in the horrific heat. Luckily we have had a very dull grey July and August so far – I’ve stopped complaining and thankful not to have extreme heat from last summer when the country ws tinderdry. Today my office was so cold I put the heating on, wearing two pairs of socks and wrapped up in a rug! Please keep safe and well, may the heat let up soon for you, my friend. xx❤️

Such a wonderful interview with Mich and yes I learned something new about her, even though I have enjoyed her poetry and flash fiction, for quite awhile. Thank you for your time and effort. Selma, into showing us a bit more about one of WordPress’s most published and read authors. I am on my way to buy a kindle version as it takes forever (if it actually makes it) to get to Costa Rica in book form..

Thanks for stopping. Comments mean the world to me. Won't you please leave one?
