I am made of dreams and bones she is made of star and moon dust taunting and testing with a knowing hand, she dwells in the place of experience. I stalk her and her lithe shadow; pursue that villain on the loose practicing —perfecting different forms impaling her with pleading tameness. People talking without speaking, catch a tiger by the toe, people hearing without listening, blow your nose, then let him go! She's ready to help if I stop long to sit quiet and admit to charges when discovered red-handed: sleeping with The Dictionary again. In her red, white, and blue poise she'll avow: indeed, it's Jemima who's in the kitchen with Dinah. Make a wish and fall asleep in a blue haze, the dandy dictionary near you. © Selma
Written with enthusiasm for W3 Prompt #65: Wea’ve Written Weekly where this
week’s PoM is Sadje.
Find the prompt poem here:
‘Power is ours/ yours’, a poem by Sadje
Here are Sadje’s prompt guidelines for July 26, 2023
- Write: a syllabic poem or: a poem in free verse;
- Topic: “What inspires you to write?” or: “What inspires you to write poetry?”
This is NOT clickbait:
I am made of dreams and bones
and find pleasure with my dandy partner under the covers…
(a little misleading, but I hope it makes you grin).
Thanks for reading.
Let me know if you grinned.

“discovered red-handed:
sleeping with The Dictionary again.”
The dictionary is my favorite lover.❤️
Hehe. We can share 🤣 🪢
What are some of your favorite words?
Kindness. Serendipity. Community. Empathy. Love. Miracles. Poetry. Hope …
Yours? 🤣
Cantankerous, indubitable, languid, ragazza, rapscallion, twitterpated, vociferous. Yours are a lot nicer than mine.🤭
You’re too smart for me. Twitterpated hmm. I think I like infatuated 🥰 better. But hey thanks for teaching me a new word. 🤩
Haha! Loved your unique take Selma. One who loves words, loves a dictionary too.
😂 yes. Exactly. XoXo
😍😍😍
… the dandy dictionary near you…. 😁👌

🙇🏽♀️ always a pleasure.
Never know what will arise from a prompt. 😜 😂
Hi Selma, this is wonderful. It reads like a fairy tale 🌸
No more doubt about who’s in the kitchen with Dinah. 👏🏽 a fairy tale. Yes. Thanks, Robbie.
Selma as a child who loved to read the dictionary and encyclopedia, I can relate to this! Love the images and especially of being curled up with a good book (what is better than a dictionary? A thesaurus!!)
Of course. Its cousin, Thesaurus. 👏🏽 xoxo
fun uplifting poetry Selma. love the dreamy story tale in poetry 💞
The state of things call for uplifting poetry. I’m so happy you liked this one, dear Cindy.
As for me, I will always be running late with the many posts I want to get to. Thanks for the visit/
Blessings.

This was powerful and I loved it! – SSW
I did grin and I love that line. As I read it, it sounded like a song. Beautifully written, Selma.
Thank you, dear Maria. That line? Perhaps the one about Someone’s in the kitchen with Dinah? Whichever you choose, thanks so much for the lovely support and stellar encouragement. So happy you’re here. xoxo
I just realised I forgot to post which line 😅 but I do love all the lines.
Love it!
Syl, thanks so much for saying that. Bless you.
