Colleen: “I’m fascinated by fine art. Much of my newfound knowledge comes from
Rebecca Budd’s blog, Chasing Art. Many thanks to Rebecca for the inspiration.
“This post from Rebecca captured my attention: The National Gallery 5 Minute
Guided Meditation. (Please watch the short video on the post).
Your poetry writing invitation:
- Read Rebecca’s post and watch the video.
- Using the painting and the video as your inspiration, please write a Japanese
poetry form: haiku, senryu, tanka, gogyohka, haibun, tanka prose, renga, or a
chōka. - Be mindful of the rules of the particular forms. Find the forms on the cheat
sheet HERE.

The artist painted water in a cup, and he’s honest about that.
I prefer to think there’s sake in that cup *wink*
Here’s a second haiku to go with the lovely art piece inspired by Rebecca’s selection.
Thanks, Rebecca. And Colleen. xoxo

but make my sake dry.
