Strolling in moonlight or playing attuned
Pulsing in moments feeling mighty fine
I on the solo flute, you the bassoon
Double-blind and tone-deaf yet we align
The bees hum about clover and sweet peas
Mingled with fragrances from rare flowers
From morning till night, day is ours to seize
For us whose pleasure gladdens by the hour
Do not whine and whimper or stare aghast
Our friendship will last through our silver heads
With mirth to drive us forward unabashed
And visions of fairies and hues of red
You make the cloudy days appear sunny
On how I love you my bosom buddy

Written for The Skeptic’s Kaddish W3 #129 prompt, hosted by the great PoW, Carol Anne. A wonderful prompt. Thanks so much.
The prompt poem: A poem by Carol Anne
Us
two at
the orchard
slicing a pear—
my best friend and I,
feeling mighty fine. Rub
rub its soft white skin, knife it
and share. Broad-headed fruit of gods
in the s u n s h i n e, this bliss so divine.
Us two at the orchard s l i c i n g a pear.
