First There Was Nothing: Quadrille #210 — Let There Be Light

First there was
nothing
Nothing to see
That wasn’t
of darkness
Not your hand or
that of another
Not your reflection
on the firmament.
Not until there
was starlight
Could you discern
the face of another
*First there was nothing
Then there was everything.

Written for De for Monday Quadrille at dVerse Poets’ Pub

“De Jackson, aka WhimsyGizmo, de-lighted to be here to host Quadrille Monday, when we take to paper to pen featherlight poems of just 44 words, including one word we provide.

Today, let there be light.”

* “First there was nothing. Then there was everything. Then, in a park above a western city after dusk, the air is raining messages.”

I love this, Selma. In philosophical daoism they say, first there was none, then there was one, and then there were 10,000 (all-that-is.)
