Worst than a bad hair day, is when the pollen count explodes to record highs. I’ve been going for two days with a headache 🤕 and home remedies. Last night the balloon went up, my strength waned and a burning pain attacked my throat. 🦞
Breathing was next to impossible. Sleepless in Japan.
Consulted the doctor this morning. I’m on the mend now.
I’ll be away for a few days, recovering. I want to be well for NaPo… but before that I want to give you the residue of what I have on Delilah. I couldn’t get her out of my mind.
Hear me out and of course, no need to agree. This is practice, practice, practice 😉 ✍🏽 After all, you “know” the story.
I’ll go a little scripture-esquié…
Delilah didn’t get to shed repentant tears or explain how aggrieving the backstabbing felt. Or if the lure was worth anything at all. Any thing at all.
But we know from scripture that it did nothing to provide the vitality she envisioned.
“What Was The Price You Paid For Your Services, Young Naive Delilah…”
Letter to Delilah
Pitiful, voluptuously treacherous Delilah–I’m disappointed in you. Poor girl.
You had everything a woman deserves. The protector (judge) of the oppressed,
humble in all his undertakings, bestowed love on you.
Perhaps you learned and repented in the end, but, too late: you will never walk
where angels trod. And what’s more, you forever lost my childhood admiration.
The strongest pillar of a culture is the respect for the power of love,
not
love of power.
American Sentences:
brainwashed beautiful Delilah, was the barter worth your nemesis?
To be born beautiful and loved unprejudiced. But cursed scrupleless.
A repenting Delilah—would that have saved such an amoral soul?
She didn’t get to mourn or teach if the lure was worth the price/prize. She showed us.
That outer shell is just superficial clout: only gets you so far.
awe for the power of love—not love of power—man’s strongest pillar
Samson-Delilah: hearts in the wrong place? did the style excuse the wrong?
The Nazirite, Judge of Israel, loved a Philistine, stunned as Judas*
*Judas, the Judean, the traitor.
Let’s just say the fever has me hallucinating.
Send healing ❤️🩹 vibes.
Please.
Thanks.
(Be well. See you when I recover from sinusitis).

Hope you feel better soon my friend. A very interesting take on this week’s prompt.
Thanks sweet Sadje. Someone slept like a baby last night in Japan. 😴
But I don’t want to go out into the pollen 😢 😷 that worsens things.
You could probably hear me sneeze 🤧 even in India.
You’re welcome! Take care
oh, no, I just went through this recently and it is not pleasant, to say the least. glad you are on the mend
Thanks, Beth. On the mend. ❤️🩹
I send you a lot of healing vibrations. I wish you a speedy recovery.
C.S. You are sweet. Thanks. I received your kindness. 💕
💐
I love your take on the prompt. I also woke up with a burning throat this morning. The pollen count is steadily climbing here. Time to start taking allergy medicine.🙄 I hope you feel better soon.
Sorry to hear you’re burning too. Not pleasant.
Take meds please.
Be well. I send you healing graces.
Feel better soon, Selma. Get a neti-pot or Neil Med sinus rinse. It makes a world of difference. 💟
I’ve heard about that Neti pot. I’ll investigate more. Thanks for the concern, dear Colleen.
BTW, I quoted you in my March Pen pal newsletter 😉 I heard you in my head. Please read. Hope you don’t mind. Bless you. Xoxo
Feel better Selma!
This story is a rich one for interpretation and commentary. (K)
Thanks dearest K. Today looks and feels better. Pollen count is high. I think I’ll stay indoors.
Thanks for the visit.
Wonderful sharing on the prompt, Selma. I just wish you weren’t suffering so.. So many people are when the season’s change but it doesn’t help knowing that since you’re the one experiencing it. Hope you feel better soon💓
thanks for the words, Cindy. These seasonal points, we must deal with them. I’m getting better, but for the lingering feeling in my ears–feels like they need to pop and I can’t get them to do that. I’m well masked, I tell you. And goggled. hehe. Be well, sending hugs. xoxo
you’re so welcome, Selma. now just get in the airplane or take your Mary Poppins umbrella and visit me and they’ll pop up sky entry… haha. ” I’m well masked, I tell you. And goggled. hehe.” Too funny❣️
Great idea.
The fever does not deter your skill in writing, Selma. As this was about 2 days ago, I hope you’re feeling better now. Take care. ❤️
Feeling better. thanks dearly. Be well.
Glad you’re on the mend, Selma. Seasonal allergies hit me too right around this time through June, but they haven’t struck yet. Take good care! xoxo
Doing better. A bit busy with personal stuff and the ever looming tech hassle. All in the hope to slide without baggage into April. If you’re feeling well, why not join me in April NaPoWriMo?! I hope so.
I’m glad, Selma, and same here. 🙂 Thanks for thinking of me for NaPoWriMo, but I’ll have to pass. I can’t keep up with reading blogs, and I’m working on my children’s book while dealing and processing with my new health. Anyway, take good care! ❤️
